Its that whole cycle once again. Zee's sole mission is to touch upon weak sentiments such as religion, culture, nationality, and then watch people like us argue about it and take more interest in the show. Last time I checked this was a singing competition. Why not discuss something else about the Pakistanis --- such as their singing, perhaps?

On a last note, by the looks of this post, it seems like once again Zee is successful in its TRP-gaining mission. And once again we shall be cursed to listen to HR's TRP bakwaas.

Exactly!!! 👏 And to an extent even this media is responsible.. They give too much importance to these sensitive issues.. I dont understand, why people are not seeing it in the perspective of music.. Lets just enjoy music, we are somehow privileged to listen to all these best contestants... Why not just stick on to it

About clothes one should only wear what they feel comfortable with. Be it fully covered body or revealing.

you know, i think people would believe that if "har har mahadev" wasn't an actual slogan. the fact that it is an actual slogan makes me doubt that.

How nice the world would be if people were not so full of complexes and prejudices! Why do people have to read so much into everything and try to bring in their religion or identity into every little thing?

It's a war cry put forth as a fun-slogan. It does not denigrate other religions or say that Mahadev is the only God. I think the Pakistani contestant in question is coming with a lot of baggage we can do without! Where are the Amanats and Musarrats?

i think zee tv is the one to bring prejudice, religion, and identity into SRGMP.

true that the slogan doesn't say that mahadev/shiv is the only god, but it does praise the hindu god shiv.

as far as i recall, during amanat and musarrat's time, there weren't any religious slogans. that's why they didn't "bring a lot of baggage."

After last season I have realized that there is no point to discussing such sentiments as religion/nationality because there is no logical end to it. One cannot change the opposing person's views so why bother. I think this season has a lot of potential. The singers are brought from many different backgrounds, I think it'll be fun to watch. And I'm hoping to see some good interaction between the judges. 😃

But the context is different.. And using this as a slogan for the mentor is more like driving a parody..In fact VHP should be opposing it not others..😆 Why should it matter.. ? If Rafi said Bhagwan (and not allah) so many times in his O duniya key rakhwale where the.lyrics were by shakeel and music by naushad!!!!!!!. a whole muslim trio!! people didnt make a fuss of it.. cause teh audience and singers both were mature or mature professionals... this whole thing makes me slightly more proud of indian muslims for their broad mindset...all said, the modern mindset is aberrated and twisted.. especially after I read some of the opinions in this thread on har har mahadev...for all that I feel good about this gal who is not reeling under peer pressure and dares to voice her concern about her dress thats perfectly alright though I still feel, given her traditional looks nobody is going to ask her to wear anything but traditional outfits..

👏.....This is for Sara from my side....!!!! I really loved her spirit...!!! As far as "Har Har Mahadev" is concerned then all of my friends over here I just wanna say that Sara might not be aware of the meaning...!!! Believe me, in my school many people think that speaking Hindi is wrong...!!! Individually I learn Hindi from T.V and from my father...!!! I asked them the meaning of words and use them often....!!! So, Sara might not be aware of the meaning...!!!😊😊😊

bhagwan is a very general term that simply refers to god. according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhagavan, "Bhagavan is in many ways analogous to the general Christian conception of God." as long as a person believes in god, saying bhagwan shouldn't be a problem at all. i don't mind saying bhagwan myself. however, when you are forced to say stuff like "har har mahadev," which is said in reference to a particular god, then it becomes a problem for nonbelievers.

personally, i don't understand why people are so against sara refusing to say "har har mahadev." why is it such a big dilemma? it's her personal choice, and i believe that zee tv and others here should respect that.

from my personal experience, i have many hindu friends who are very into hinduism, and i can guarantee you that you will never hear them say stuff like "inshallah" or "Allah o akbar," but should that matter to me? no. i don't care. they are great people, and that's why i am friends with them. i respect them regardless of what they believe in. it's all a matter of accepting others' decisions.

"I still feel, given her traditional looks nobody is going to ask her to wear anything but traditional outfits.."

actually, i don't think you can assume that. look at ankita from indian idol. she wore very tom-boyish, head-to-toe kind of clothing, but she was changed to wear more modern outfits.

it's good that she spoke up against what she didn't want to do. everyone should have the choice of what to wear. but i didn't like the way her mom said she was afraid to send her to Mumbai because of how the girls dress there. 😕 it's their personal choice and they have no restrictions on them so let them wear what they want to!

I don't want to start on the other issue. All I can say is that it's sad how people can't understand a simple pun. 😕

Har Har Mahadev! 😃
