Unsuitable song choices by contestants

it was a good theme gone awry.

I agree with u completely sahana...they messed up the whole episode.There are soooo many better songs that they could hv choosen...ones that were popular too.

I hv talked to many of these contestants and one feedback i got from all was the mentors are choosing songs for them keeping popularity in mind.But why these new songs only. why do they hv this misconception that the old gems wont be enjoyed by the masses?Didnt the black & white episode get high trp?how about the taj episode? all showed high trp so why only these songs and not the old gems.

There are so many songs from that era that would hv suited this particular episode....and it would hv been a fitting ending with friday old gems while saturday new songs with that football team.

Even the old song that was chosen - tum jo mil gayi ho by Amanat was also not well-chosen. It was too complex.

Among the new songs, I would have liked "agar main kahoon mujhe tumse muhabbat hain" from Lakshya. The guitar piece in that song is absolutely fabulous.

On top of it they picked all Rafi numbers for the violin round. Rafi's expressions are v difficult to replicate, and technical shortcomings are further exposed.

Guys, even todays episode I thought the song choices could have been much better. The last song by Aneek could have been a better choice. Don't you think?
