zee may beat star plus

Zee may soon overtake its rival channel STAR Plus, if the latest ratings are anything to go by. If that happens, then Zee will reclaim its title as the No. 1 entertainment channel in India.

'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007', on Zee, is the leading programme across all channels at present. Its present average TVR of 7.5 puts it firmly in the leading position, ahead of STAR's 'Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi', which has an average TVR of 5.3.

Zee's 'Dulhaan' is the number three show across all channels. Maayka, on the same channel has an average TVR of 3.9, beating STAR's 'Kasautii Zindagi Kay, which has an average TVR of 3.8. Zee's 'Betiyaan' is at par with STAR's 'Kahanii Ghar Ghar Kii', with an average TVR of 4.3.

In the Top 50 programmes across all channels, Zee has a share of 22 shows, STAR Plus has 26, and Sony has 2. With the increasing popularity of Zee's other shows, such as 'Saath Phere', 'Kasamh Se', and 'Parrivar', STAR Plus faces serious competition.
