While his debut films 'Alibaug' and 'Dus Kahaniyaan' (produced by Sanjay Gupta) are yet to be released, composer Bappa Lahiri (Bappi Lahiri's son) has now been signed to score the track for the romantic thriller 'India Rocks'.
To be directed by Aditya Kapoor (veteran Shammi Kapoor's son) with Mimoh Chakraborty (actor Mithun Chakraborty's son) as the hero, the movie will be launched shortly. The film will also star Miss England Elanor Glynn. Incidentally, Aditya has just finished directing his English film 'Don't Stop Dreaming' starring Rishi Kapoor and Suneil Shetty.
Meanwhile, the young Bappa feels that he has made a 'blessed debut' because he has made his father Bappi sing the song 'Raat khamosh hai' in 'Alibaug', which also has Sanjay Dutt lending his voice. "After singing for A R Rahman in 'Guru' and Vishal-Shekhar in 'Taxi No 9211', my dad sang my composition. It was a big high,"says Bappa. He adds, "The last time that a father sang for his son was when veteran S D Burman, sang the late R D Burman's composition 'Doli mein bithaai' in 'Amar Prem' ( 1971)."
Besides being a drummer and a pianist, Bappa also sings. "I want to first make my mark as a composer. May be, next year I will dabble with singing," he says.
