i still feel that sunil has a lot of potential. he's not exactly the well-fed (over-fed?) types like a hema, but someone can take him and do wonders with that kind of look. he has some of the soulful gurdaas mann presence about him without any of the accent/ tonal problems.

also, i think it's important to define the objective. imo the objective should be to find good overall performers, not just technically brilliant play-back singers. after all, when it comes to play-back singing, we're going to be hearing the same recorded song over and over again. we need perfection then, and only very few can ever fill that slot. we then dont want second best, we want only the best. that's just one person every few years, not the hordes that these talent shows keep churning out every few months.

it's a different story for stage performers. that's where most will find themselves anyway, so it perhaps makes more sense to make the assessments on overall appeal. the guy i am talking about has that i think 😊

also energy is over-rated. nothing that a class-A high-current amplifier cant fix. not the million-in-one gadgets one can buy for 200 bucks from the local shop (and think they got a great deal), but a low-distortion on-off high-current circuitry. so the problem we identified with sunil's singing, even if real, is very fixable. i'd rather go with appeal and that something intangible. it's hard to fix if one doesnt have it 😊

And I concur with both points...he's def. got potential.

I'm only looking at the technical aspect right now, the performers will come to light as the show progresses. It happened in many cases last season itself (including Hema), so undoubtedly it will happen again..esp if Zee has anything to do with it 😆
