If they go with an Indian winner there will be a hue and cry over partiality and favoritism, etc.

My main point is, the show has never dealt with this issue in an appropriate and socially responsible manner. Instead, it has employed regionalism as a publicity ploy repeatedly. The regionalism is blatant in the show and will most likely only serve to illuminate issues that are either non-existant or minor. There is no mechanism to cope with the stresses it will introduce in society. If we're already so divided into North, South, East, West, one state vs. another, etc. such a platform and exploitation by the media will only serve to amplify that. And you can well imagine the reprocussions of that. 😕

I know it's a pessimistic view.. but considering the past and present societal mindset, it is a realistic possibility as well.

From what I saw in the first epi... the attention is focussed on the wrong people! 😕 The contestants have next to no screen time...but that will most likely change as the show progresses.. if you recall the drama of last season (though even then the individuals got one-on-one interaction even in the beginning. I think they just edited that part out for this and prolly the first few epis)

i think that is because alot of people like contestants depending on which gharana they belong too. so they are giving more screen time to the mentors🤢

Waise.. I'd appreciate some response to what I report about the singers. I don't know much about music, so I'm not sure how "correct" or wrong I was in my understanding and perception.

I'm even worse than you - and to be frank, I'm even scared to comment. Kya pata, I might end up looking stupid. 😆

1. On an avg they are singing lot better than the Indian singers.. the one that went to the Yalgaar gharana ('Kinna sona tujhe rab ne banaya' guy) was really good... Molly Dave, as I already said, is more of a performer and may not do very well in the non item-number songs, going by her voice style of first song

2. Zee says that the show has gone international... so they will try and make an international guy win in order to claim that they created an international star

3. Getting a person from across the border to win also sends out a nice friendly political message, and exploiting this side of the viewer emotion could lead to higher TRPs for the channel

I agree with Jaya.😊 The Pakistani singers were selected by Gulam Ali and another person. They had to sent out the best....... and I was totally florred by them. The Dubai singer was also great, the one ID chose. I didnot like the UK singer much, the one chosen by HR. I saw the 2nd episode again and I must admit the Canadian Ganguli girl was good too but not as forceful as Mauli. I also agree with Jaya that Mauli is a Performer as she herself said on the show. It will be interesting to see if she can carry herself with the serious and normal songs like the ones Nihira sang.

Jaya is perhaps right in saying that Zee has gone international so the winner may be a non-resident of India. But after seeing the 2nd episode I can say that the International singers are damn good........... watch out Indian singers for it will be a very tough fight!😛

Indian performers have to pull up their socks and perform, they seemed pretty mediocre. I hope they will improve a lot, otherwise it won't be fun. After all, maximum votes come from India, so if those contestants don't impress, lot of people will lose interest even if the overseas/Pakistan people are very good.

Shady... ek hi khet ke mooli ho 😆 Yaara... kuch bhi keh do. Buddhu bolne ke liye kaun hai yahan. Saare maharati gum hai aaj kal, lagta to aisa hi hai anyway.
