Is anyone(of this forum) been in the audience of SAREGAMAPA Challenge 2005 ?

Are the audience & the jury seen the comments of the mentors on each participant(as we see in tv) before each participant's performance?

sofia, there is no telecast on saturday.. not in india atleast......if you are talking about the last round's result- nihira and vineet got the green cards and keka and irfan got blue cards.

You are correct, he did sing tu hi re (i got confused)........but we were not shown the round in the normal show- it was shown in the uncensored.

My personal favorite is Debojit too. According to me he is a complete singer. As mentioned already, during his earlier SRGMP cometition, he sang a bengali private song so beautifully that I could not believe that I am listening to a candidate in a contest. It was flawless. If there is a good judge (e.g. shiv-hari), he would be the one winning this contest.

Hahaha! Usha Uthup as a judge??? The audience, the janta will all cry out "Hari Om Hari!" (as in Hariprasad Chaurasia). Usha Uthup will simply reply, "Please give me another chance, Hare Rama Hare Krishna!"

Comedy, aside... that is very true. I wonder why Daler Mehndi was chosen as a judge, just as I wondered why Sameer was chosen as a judge. Sameer, no doubt, is a wonderful lyricst, but he cannot really comment on the music. Only thing he can really comment about is diction and pronunciation and perhaps expression, but that's all.

I await to see judges in the Agni Pariksha round: Shabbir Kumar and Alisha Chinoy 👏👏👏

Uncensered Saregama was nice to see.
what they showed was that judges were not sure between abhijit and Paresh(UK) they asked them to sing one more song.(3rd)
Where abhijit sang very nice, Paresh did not pick up the right song(his type) so Abhijeet won.

About the mentors...
Saw the first episode of the new round today. I dont know why ID has been so maligned but really, JL have now been getting on my nerves. Ujjaini (who I really liked in the last round), did start a little shakily but JL seemed to take it a little personally and then brought Nihira into it, just to stike back at ID. Leave the contestants out your personal squibbles for crying out loud. JL are the seniormost in the group of mentors and should behave accordingly.
Also HR was correct when he said that we have to consistent. You can't praise a person for bringing in his own stylings in one round and then say something totally opposite in the next round. The rules have to be the same.
I still believe that Vineet/Vishwas/Rajeev are a little (over)hyped by their respective mentors but then thats just me.
Regarding AS, I personally thought he started off as being sarcastic (give him a song and invite me to a recording) but then switched tracks (after he saw that HR really did have plans to give him a song) to show everyone that he was serious and avoid any confrontation.
Nihira never has struck me as being too cocky or proud ("ghamandi") of her talent but she's still young (couldn't believe she's only 17) and what Daler said will prevent her from getting so in the future.
