💕💜Somewhere Over the Rainbow #43 With Prats in our hearts 💜💕
I watched the first round of the participants today. Though Priti wanted to keep our suspense alive by not mentioning the names of the winners, there are some over-excited members who feel that by telling people the winners name, they will become immortals, so let us not go further on that. If someone feels that this is the way it should be, let it be. There are always two types of people, one who understands and the others who are hell bent to make you understand their point of views (Bunty aur Bubbly.....).
Anyway, I wanted to express my feelings on the results of the first day. I already know the outcome of the second day as well, but since I have not watched that yet, I can't comment on that. Swananda deserved it 200% for her song "Jaane Kya Baat Hai..", I don't know what could be a better performance than that? I, for a change agreed with JL when L said that "promise me that if you would not sing better than this!" I think this time she had another chance and she was through in next round (as I have been told by someone in this forum) but had that been a crucial round, then Shiv Hari had made a big judgmental error there. Twinkle sang a difficult song but she does not have a great voice nor she could perfect that song. Remember Priyani's "Khallas...", it reminded me of that performance. She wanted to copy Ashaji to the fullest but remember those variations come naturally to Ashaji and that is why it sounds good but Twinkle was trying to imitate her like a carbon copy and I am sorry to say but I was not that impressed. And when Shivji said that she made a "difficult song simple" and that is why Twinkle deserved Green Card, I felt that a complete error was committed by them to Swananda. Beside Twinkle's arrogance and her body language puts me off. I am sure that in next round when we will have more complexity and Twinkle will be singing along with these winners on a format where all singers have to sing same song or on different themes, people will come to know that Twinkle is not a "True" singer. When she speaks, her original voice tells all about her voice quality (going by that she could be a good playback singer for Rani Mukherjee). But on the other hand what a superb performance by Swananda, I for the first time in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa wanted a contestant to sing complete song. Totally out of the world!
In the males, honestly no one impressed me. It was kind of selecting best amongst worst performers. No, Rajiv is over hyped, he is not that great a singer! Well, well, well...he might have a very modest background and all those touchy talks on how he was selected from a small village in Chamba and what not..But when it comes to performing on stage, we should forget all those facts and concentrate in his skill. Same with Dilshaad, he was getting some kind of "sympathy" for being handicapped. Having said that, both these singers have some specialty. Dilshaad is perfect for sad songs and Rajeev is pefect for folk songs with lots of "oonchee Taan"..more like Hansraj Hans or Sukhwinder like. But here we are seeing for a versatile playback singer. Sorry, both of them do not fit in that. Neeladri is kind of a singer who does not impress a lot but at the same time is not bad either. Wait for a fierce competition and he will melt out and will be eliminated. So far there are many singers who have been lucky to come this far due to the level of competition. Compare this with Sania's performance, each time she faces Williams or Sharapovas and she can't go to the next level. So they may hav made thus far but momnt they will face big guys on one to one...they will simply have no contest. Think of it, if you have to select between Swananda and Twinkle, whom you would prefer. Soon that will happen and you will see that many of these who have been lucky to have survived will just get eliminated without any question. To name a few - Irfan, Sharib, Joyitaa, Abhijit, Neeladri, Keke, Sanchali immediately come to my mind. There could be little here and there in their quality but they are sure to be eliminated in next few rounds. But some of them are this far just because of their luck, that they did not have to face the tough ones..! Why I say that, compare the performance so far of these with some who have been already eliminated. You will perhaps get the answer.
On mentors, I see that there is a big change in ID's behavior. He is much softer now than before.
But overall the competition so far has been fully entertaining. I look forward to see today's telecast of the 2nd round of which I know the results already, thanks to some BIG HEARTED persons who believe that things in this world should go in a certain way only!
OK, I saw the 2nd round of the 2nd sets of participants in 2nd charan!
I must say that performance by all four participants were outsatnding. It was relatively easy to single out Swananda to be given Green Card but between Dilshaad and Neeladri, I guess Himmesh summed up that very well. It was very close as both of them probably gave their best performance so far!
For a change I saw that ID and Aadesh were talking and appreciating each other's view points very nicely. The overall communication between all the mentors was also much imporved, constructive and the way it should be - criticize bad perofrmance or weak points and appreciate the good performance and strengths, across the gharanas. Precisely that is what I found in this round. Can someone tell me that was this episode after the ID and AS had a fight out?
Let us recap, how gharanas stand:
Boys first:
ID- Debojit, Niladri (both thorugh), Paresh & Irfan (yet to perform)
JL- Abhijit, Sharib (yet to perform)
AS-Viswas, Rajiv(both through), Hemachandra (yet to perform)
HR-Nanu, Dilshaad (both eliminatd), Vineet (yet to perform)
Girls :
ID-Nihira, Twinkle (both through), Vineeta (yet to perfom)
JL- Manjira (eliminated), Swananda (through), Sanchali (yet to perform)
AS-Raktima(through), Hemabindu(eliminated), Himani and Keke (yet to perform)
HR-Joyita, Ujjaini (yet to perform)
Did I put them correctly? So following are yet to perform in the 2nd charan:
Boys:Paresh, Irfan,Abhijit, Sharib, Hemachandra and Vineet
Girls: Vinita, Sanchali, Himani, Keke, Ujjaini
I guess Irfan, Sharib, Sanchali and Vinita are the weakest amongst them.
My prediction is that one of these two pairs will be the final winners
boys :Hemachandra/Debojit
girls: Nihira/Himani .
