Ucandoit - your argument crashes to the ground before it can take off..... if I may use so poor a metaphor....

If you do accuse Lataji of disrespect and for argument's sake and to give you the benefit of the doubt let us pretend that indeed she did close her ears as a form of protest against the assault to her ears... or as a mark of pure unadulterated arrogance..... then I would say that at this stage of her singing career... when she stands alone at that pinnacle ... well... even if she has no right to show such disregard....phir bhi... unhe sau khhon maaaf.....

Whereas those very "young kids" (as you so aptly put it ) ...well... what brings on their arrogance? What makes them think that they can get away with such egotistical attitudes?

Ok.... now to tell you the truth...in actuality... I find none of them conceited enough to warrant a mention.... I barely am watching EMAET.... and if these guys have formed a haughty attitude... then more power to them 👍🏼 and especially I wish Twinkle more of an attitude..... (if that's who we are talking about)

... I personally don't condemn them at all....

Was just arguing for argument's sake 😛 and especially because it is rather boring around here right now

😆

First of all, it is not right that she does not encourage modern talent. She produced the talent hunt show "Meri awaz suno" and herself crowned Sunidhi Chauhan, then I think 13 years old.

Hundred percent right! I have seen the program in which today's singers sang her songs on her birthday. All of them have great admiration and respect for Latabai. In fact, I have a clipping in which Sunidhi's respect for her is very evident. She sang the song 'Tu chanda mai chandni' which had won her 'Meri Awaaz Suno'. She was virtually trembling and her hands sweating before she started the song and she was quite breathless. This is the kind of respect only a legend can get.

So, please do not go by photographs. She is too great a legend to be judged that way. Long live Latadidi! I thank her from the bottom of my heart for all those beautiful songs which our generation was so fortunate to enjoy.

Well, we have been tearing apart these young kids for their arrogant behaviour... Most of them r barely 17-20 and not mature enough to be perfect with their actions/behaviour...

But have a look at this... How can this be justified...

This is Lata Mageshkar recently plugging her ears to an upcoming artist performing on stage... With all her soulful renderings and decades of melody behind her, is this justified? If she could be so rude and arrogant to an upcoming artist(despite being an artist herself), what can we expect from these 17 year olds...

How do you know that this was not a fire cracker.😕

I wont call this as arrogance.. may be she just expressed her views on the song.. the person who is singing must also know wat others feel.. if we keep telling a person that he is singing well, then he can never improve himself...
Latadi did it right.. the singer shld also correct his mistakes and sing wel.. may be tats the reason she closed her ears?

I agree with u in most points... I have already said I AM NOT defending those kids... I myself believe they have nothing that they should be arrogant about... But I disagree when u say Lataji ko sau khoon maaf... that is the point... The kids are absolutely unjustified... but u can expect it from teenagers... but I never expected this behaviour from a legend... even if she had every reason to justify that, it does not comegood to see someone show this dislike in the face - that too a role model like her...

Mr. you can do it
why do you think this is arrogance? Do you also believe that - what media shows you - is the only truth? It's just an edited version.

Secondly even if she closes her ears, she has earned this authority through hard work and riyaaz. Let the singer sing a song of her choice and prove his/her mantle.

If this was considered as a chance of a life time by the singer - shouldn't he/she present to Latadidi what his/her ability is with what she understands the best.

May be the singer was REALLYY singing besura - just because the crowd claps doesn't mean the singing is in sur - we get ample evidence from the EMET shows don't we?

kyaa yaar kuchh bhii bolate ho?
