Another favourite of mine is:

'Tum itna jo muskura rahi ho...' from Arth.. I think Shabana Azmi looks absolutely stunning there.. and her expressions (where she is trying to smile with tears in her eyes..) are just beyond words...

Indeed a lovely one...quite heart wrenching, actually.

I remember

"Dil ke jharoke mein tujko bita kar... Yaadon ko teri mein dulhan banakar rakunga main dil ke pass......

The song which gives me goose bumps is "Baharon phool barsavoh....mera mehboob aya hai......."

The song which is all time favourite is "Aye malik tere bandeh hum.........

i remembered another one... "dushman na kare dost ne woh kaam kiya hai". it was picturised on smita patil. the situation was that smita patil is married to rakesh roshan. Tina munim, smitas sister, steals her husband and her child away from smita. years later they (rakesh and tina meet smita at a party and smita sings this song. smita patil has acted wonderfully, she has conveyed all the emotions of pain and betrayal so well. She was a briliiant actress.

I think Shabana and Smita still stand as the strongest female actors for Hindi cinema.. Arth is one of the movies they were together, and I loved the song 'Koi yeh kaise bataye' where they are together - Its the party song where Kulbhushan Kharbanda (Shabana's husband) has come to attend the same with Smita (his girlfriend) and Shabana has to bear that, she is stunned to see them.. She gets drunk, shouts on them, cries.. The song sung by Rak Kiran reflects the pain and intricacies of relationships, loneliness etc ... Absolutely stunning!

Another wonderful number is.....Honto pe aisi baat from Jewel Thief. Vijayanthi Mala danced like a dream expressing such anguish....lovely choreography and beautiful execution.

Yes, the Arth songs were picturized really well.

Here is another of my favourites. "Sun sun sun zaalima" from Aar Paar has Guru Dutt and Shyama. Guru Dutt looks like a vagabond and a rascal. Never knew he could pull off a role like this. Shyama looks like a cute girl and is quite modernly dressed in peddlepushers. I love the conversational style of the song. When she sings "Aur kisi ke saamne jaake dil uchchaaliye", its quite funny.

Another good one was the song from Chupke Chupke...Ab ke Baras Sawan Mein....

Sharmila was acting quite coy, with Dharam hiding behind the curtain and enjoying the song...and Om Prakash get suspicious and surreptiously peeps behind the curtains, but by then, Dharam runs away...and to top it all, we have Asrani hogging away on cake, for the entire song..and at the end of the song, Dharam gives himself away by saying something...the scene that follows this song is simply hilarious....

My all time fav movie !

Dharmendra is superb in this movie. This song situation you've described is so realistic and believable.

I also loved 'Haal kaisa hai janaab ka' from 'Chalti ka naam gaadi'.. Kishore'da and Madhubala truly reflected the happy mood of the song through their crazy expressions... 😆
