Yes this one is really good. It's very touchy. Somehow the song and the picturisation brings tears to my eyes whenever I watch the song.

Absolutely moving! This song can be applied to so many situations in life, isn't it? And there is one line in this song which makes me cry.
Muskuraao to
Muskuraane ki
karz utaarne honge.
One of my favs too!
And while on Masoom, "Lakdi ki kaathi" is one of my favourite songs picturised on kids. The gay and carefree emotions of childhood, oblivious to the tensions in the household, and the sheer joy of bonding with siblings....all these are so beautifully captured in this song.

great topic punjini..it made me recollect beautiful memories.
After posting here i just went to check the music credits of the film and no wonder why i liked the music of the movie so much --its RD Burman/Gulzar combo with Lata singing 'tujse naraaz nahi' . Could anybody ask for anything better?
Izzazat is my fav too. 'mera kuch samaan ' was picturised very well on anuradha patel. The lyrics of the songs are so moving and so apt for the situation of a jilted lover.
Wasn't Half Ticket hilarious to the extreme? I mean, one can die of laughing in that movie. 😆 One should see the movie at a time when one is contemplating suicide. I also like the picturization of "Woh ik nigaah kya mili tabeeyaetin badal gayi". Helen looks like an angel in that and you can make out the influence of Russian folk dance in this sequence.
Actually this song has been inspired by a Danny Kaye movie, forgot the name. In fact, Danny Kaye had a voice similar to Kishore Kumar (or is it the other way around?)
You're right, this has been inspired by a Danny Kaye movie...I think it was "Knock on Wood"...BTW, I'm a big fan of Danny Kaye too !!!!

Another favourite of mine is:
'Tum itna jo muskura rahi ho...' from Arth.. I think Shabana Azmi looks absolutely stunning there.. and her expressions (where she is trying to smile with tears in her eyes..) are just beyond words...
arth was good too.
i remembered another one... "dushman na kare dost ne woh kaam kiya hai". it was picturised on smita patil. the situation was that smita patil is married to rakesh roshan. Tina munim, smitas sister, steals her husband and her child away from smita. years later they (rakesh and tina meet smita at a party and smita sings this song. smita patil has acted wonderfully, she has conveyed all the emotions of pain and betrayal so well. She was a briliiant actress.
