O - I did not like Asha Parekh at all 😡

I thought she had too much nakhras! In bengali, we call such people 'naika' 😆 😆 😆

Any one remember the song:

Yeh Parbaton key dairey....yeh shaam ka Dhuaa

I do not remember the film and the sequence but I like the lyrics...
"Zara si zulf khol do...hawa mein itr ghol do"...
Oooof kya khayal hai!

I love some of the songs picturised on Johny Walker, mostly all of them have been sung by Mohd. Rafi.

"Main bombai ka babu, naam mera anjaana, inglis dhun mein gaaon mein hindustanni gaana" from "Naya Daur" is another such inspiring song.

Dilip Kumar and Vyjayanti Mala and the rest of the village are building a road, a short cut to the main temple which is a lil distance from the village, in preparation for the Tanga vs. Motor race between Dilip Kumar on Tanga and Jeevan on Motor Bus. A movie protraying the changing scene in India as people came to terms with Machines and automated way of working.

Johny Walker, a photo journalist comes to the village in search of news and makes this a big story.

"Aaya hoon main bandhu, roos aur cheen main jaake,
kaam ki baath bataaon, main tu comedy gaana gaake,
aye sun lo, aji sun lo, yeh jaadu ka tarana..."

nice lyrics again.

Another song, which I never expected to be filmed on Johny Walker is

"Garib jaanke humko kabhi daga na dena...
tumhi se dard liya hai, tumhi dawa denaaa...
gariib jaane ke"

Picturised on Johny walker standing below the balcony, singing to his love, (same lady who came in Sanjog opposite Pradeep Kumar) dressed in some royal costume, with her maids... standing guard. Nice song again.

Oh I LOVE this song! It is so melodious. Vaguely remember seeing it once but I hear it on tape again and again.

I dont recollect the picturisation of this song

"Aye gulbadan, aye gulbadan,
phoolon ki mehak, katon ki chuban,
tujhe dekh khe kehta hai mera man,
kahin aaj kisise mohabbat na ho jaaye.."

The next stanza is even more beautiful...

"kya haseen mod pe aa gayi zindagani,
ki haqeeqat na ban jaaye meri kahanii,
mat pooch mera dewaana pan,
aakash se oonchi dil ki udan
tujhe dekhkhe kehtha hai mera man...
kahin aaj kisise mohabbat na ho jaaye...."

It really transposes you to another world and just makes you fall in love with the song.

It's from Professor, a very entertaining movie. Try and get the VCD. You'll enjoy the movie and the songs.

Oh ok. Lemme see. I do remember having watched the movie once.

Its Shammi Kapoor with Kalpana, and Lalita pawar as their grand old aunt, with Shammi Kapoor pretending to be an old Professor as well the young lover.

Dont recollect the song though, but will try to get a VCD for it

Kalpana brings to mind Rajashree to mind and...another song...

Lal Chadi Maidan Khadi
Kya khoob ladi kya khoob ladi....

Remember Shammi Kapoor sataoing Rajashree.. ably assisted by Rajendranath and his leg-shaking antics...

Tan Tan kar zaalim ney apana
har teer nishaney par maara
Aey shukar key ab tak zinda hoon
Main dil ka ghayal bechara....

tim tum tum tum tuuuum.....what song!!!
