this one is also fro bemisal like 'yeh kashmir hai'... rakhee is now already married to vinod mehra and has now come to know maitabh likes her too.. this is a typical party situation where amitabh is intentionally getting drunk and trying to irritate rakhee and she is getting irritated! lovely song..

The picturisation of the song "Kaise Kahen hum, pyaar ne humko, kya kya khel dikhaye" from the movie Sharmilee, picturised on Shashi Kapoor, sung by Kishore Kumar is another beautiful song.

A despodent Shashi Kapooor storms off from his home when he finds out that he has married the quieter Sister and not his love, he goes back to his military base and drowns himself in drinks. The scene is very beautifully shot.

And my all time favourite song "Abhi naa jaao chodkar, ki dil abhi bhara nahi" from Hum Dono picturised on a Suave Dev Anand with a long muffler and petite and beautiful Sadhna, where she is late and wants to leave and he is reluctant to let her go. Another beautiful picturisation again.

"Abhi Abhi toh aayi ho, bahar banke chaayi ho, Hawa zara mehak toh le, nazar zara behak toh le, yeh shaam dhal toh le zaraa...." when he entreats her not to leave so early and stay on for a while longer. The lyrics and the song just makes you want to stay on that scene forever.

"Sitaaren Jhil mila uthe, charaag jhag maga uthe, bas ab na mujhko rok naa, na badke raah rok naa, ki gar mein ruk gayi abhi, toh jaa na paaongi kabhi, yehi kahoge tum sadaa, ki dil abhi nahi bharaa"

She pleads with him to let her go as the sun sets and the lights come on in the distance... and if she did not go then, she may find it difficult to go back... the words and the picturisation said a lot more than what was depicted, which made the whole scene more beautiful.

Very true 👏

The music, singing, lyrics and the performances of this osng depict romance at its cinematic best!

I love the song "Mere Ghar Aayi Ek Nanhi Pari" from the film Kabhie Kabhi....

This song shows the love and affection that a mother has for her long lost daughter. The mother played by Waheeda Rehman sings this song for her daughter(before marriage) Neetu Singh. The backdrop is such that Waheeda is now married to Amitabh Bachchan, has another daughter thro' him.

Mere Ghar Aayi Ek Nahi Pari
Chandni Ke Haseen Rath pe Sawaar
Mere Ghar Aayi Ek Nahi Pari

This song is actually sung by Waheeda describing her elder daughter Neetu Singh. But, to all, it seems that Waheeda is praising her daughter who is born to Amitabh....

And the title track of the movie Mere Mehboob sung by Mohd. Rafi.

I just wish Rajinder Kumar would have had some more expressions on his face, but Sadhna compensated for it with her loveliness.

"Mere mehboob tujhe, meri mohabbat ki kasam"... and more so, the second last stanza.. where he expresses his frustrations on having searched for her all through out, yet unable to find her, that day was his last day in the college and he was leaving the next morning for Lucknow and he had no hopes of seeing her thereafter.

Dhoontha huun tujhe har raah mein har mehefil mein
thak gaye hain merii majabuur tamannaa ke kadam
aaj kaa din merii ummiid kaa hai aakhirii din
kal na jaane main kahaan aur kahaan tuu ho sanam
do ghadii apanii nigaahon kaa sahaaraa de de
meraa khoyaa ...

And the last paragraph of the song, where he entreats her to reveal herself to him just that one chance.

Saamne aake zara parda utha dee rukh se
Ek yahi mera illajhe ghame tanhaai mein
Teri furqat ne pareshaan kiya hai mujhko...
Ab toh mil jaa, ki meri jaan pe ban aayi hai
Dil ko bhulii hui yaadon ka sahara de de...
Mera Khoya hua rangeen phasana de de...

'So ja, so ja' from 'dard ka rishta' touched me a lot...

Sunil Dutt's daughter (baby Khushboo) is fighting blood cancer and has taken his daughter to the US for treatment.. he has already lost his wife and Khushboo's mother Reena Roy, and in US he meets his first wife (Smita Patil) as Khushboo's doctor.. This song is a lullabye that he sings for his ailing daughter having tear in his eyes.. he sings..

so ja, so ja,
baap ki jagah ma le sakti hai..
ma ki jagah baap le nahi sakta..
lori de nahi sakta...

Smita patil overhears this from outside and feels very helpless about the situation...

Very touching situation, and Sunil Dutt and Smita Patil do full justice to the potrayal

"Koi hota jisko apna hum apna keh lete yaaron, paas nahi toh door hi hota, lekin koi mera apnaaa"... song full of emotions, the depth of sorrow in Kishore Kumar's voice, Vinod Khanna lying on a hard cot and singing... very nice again.

Answering a 116 page post by one Ad😳 on freedom of speech😆😆😆

I love that song and as you rightly said, the black and white feel to the song just makes it somehow more romantic.

I love humming the song and just that can lighten up your mood considerably.

True.

But Paying Guest had mostly songs of Kishore Kumar. The one I love is the song on the Terrace where Dev Anand and Nutan are romancing, with Shubha Khote jealously watching from the adjoining terrace.

"OO Nighahen mastana, dekh sama hai suhana, teer dil pe chalake, haan zara jhuk jaana, oho..."
