😆😆😆

Yeah he could have gone all the way to any octave but we would have needed first aid for revival.

Hi giggles, one doesn't need to sing in order to appreciate good music. I guess MK was popular with some people. Wonder why...

Why do I react so strongly? I get an allergic rash when I hear his voice 😊. He is basically a clone of Rafi who gets exposed when he reaches for higher notes. My opinion entirely. We all are voicing our own opinions here, aren't we?

And anyways, I don't have much knowledge about music. I guess, I am not fit enough to discuss music with you at all.

And punjini, I have heard just one song by MK "Chalo ek baar phir se", so I did not say anything by my own experience. My english teacher told me about that thing, so I think it was not so reliable. Sorry to upset you.

Hi Swastika

My objection was to your saying that Mahendra Kapoor was the only other Indian apart from Lata to have a range of 3 octaves. That sounds preposterous to me and hence the reaction, sorry if I sounded rude. Didn't mean to sound that way. As I mentioned elsewhere, I get an allergic rash at the mention of MK 😊. Shall take some antihistamine tablets.

Oh yes I avoid MK completely. 😊
Taking a stand against mediocrity is not bashing.

This is a long thread and I did not read the whole of it, so if you guys have already discussed what I am abt. to say, then pl. feel free to ignore this. Punjini, your list says Amit Kumar is KK clone. However, I really feel he had a voice of his own, somewhat similar to his legendary father, but not a clone. He is one singer who I feel has not been exploited to his full potential. Remember his songs from "Balika Badhu"....the song "Bade aache lagte hain" is just awesome. I truely feel that he is a genuine singer in his own rights, but if you or anyone disagrees.....I welcome ur viewpoints.

I was not offended by you. I am not even an MK fan... I was offended by someone else.

You're right ... taking a stand against mediocrity is not bashing ... unfortunately it amounts to bashing here on the forum.

You think MK is mediocre, for me HR is mediocre (which he really is). However, if I start writing against HR, it will soon be considered bashing and mods and some members will condemn me for my post and the thread will be closed ...

😉 😉 😉

I agree with you in some ways. He sounds like his father up to a certain extent. I mentioned somewhere else that sons might sound like their fathers due to genetic reasons. We will never know if they are copying. 😊

Hi Tansenez, maybe calling MK besura was not justified, he sings in sur but I don't like his voice quality at all. There are many others who feel the same. Some music directors have used him, though quite sparingly.

Giving one's opinion might sound judgemental to others unless everyone has the same opinion 😊

A discussion would become very sterile and boring if people are not allowed to express opinions forcefully.

No one here claims to know everything about music. Am I right? Does everyone not know that music is limitless?

This is a forum where we are all expressing opinions, some gently, some forcefully, some seriously, some jokingly. As long as no one is indecent or insulting, it's fine. We are all music critics in our own way. 😊

I think the word "bashing" is in danger of being overused.
