Isn't Mahendra Kapoor the one who sang, Na muh chhupa ke jiyo? I have heard that he has a ange of 3 octaves, the only Indian besides Lataji to have that much of a range.

You, know I always thought Adnan had a sexy voice and I had kind of pictured him as a handsome and sexy guy...

and then I saw him on T.V. 😕 😆 😆

In Tasveerteri dil mein Lata sounds shrill.

Which book says that MK had a range equal to Lata's? 😡 I am going to sue the writer! Besuras have range?

If anyone had a range similar to Lata, it can only be MOHAMMED RAFI or ASHA BHONSLE. Period.

Please listen to "jeevan mein piya tera saath rahe" from 'Goonj uthi Shehnai' and compare the ranges of Rafi and Lata http://www.musicindiaonline.com/l/17/s/movie_name.789/
This is my request.

By the way, being a great Kishore fan, just wanted to make this point that KK, in the beginning of his career, was a self-proclaimed Saigal clone.. he said many times himself that he grew up worshipping Saigal saab and 'wanted only to sing like him'. It was S.D. Burman, who convinced him that he himself has a wonderful original voice and should develop that.. by the way the incident which led to S.D Burman's deciding to make Kishore sing for him was this.. Kishore came to Bombay, wanted to be a singer, was staying with his brother Ashok Kumar, who was convinced that with zero training in music, KK cannot be a singer!! He was pushing KK to become an actor instead.. SDB used to be a regular visitor in that household, and once he overheard Kishore singing in another room (actually the restroom I think!!) and made him sit in front of him and sing, after that he told Ashok Kumar that yeh ladka mere liye gayega.. Ashok Kumar was speechless.. and the rest is history..SDB was also instrumental in making Kishoreda break out of the Saigal mould..

My feelings exactly!! He seems to have a bad cold😉 and also sounds very thake huye...sorry Sami fans..

The comparison between Sami and Hemanta Mukherjee is hilarious, and to be fair to Sami, given the completely different cultural background that Sami hails from, it is not realistic to say that he might be influenced by Hemanta..or trying to copy him!!

🤢🤢🤢 I have not even heard the song. I just said what I have heard from my teacher. Stop being such a jerk. Its difficult to tolerate such a patronizing tone.

And anyways, I don't have much knowledge about music. I guess, I am not fit enough to discuss music with you at all.

And punjini, I have heard just one song by MK "Chalo ek baar phir se", so I did not say anything by my own experience. My english teacher told me about that thing, so I think it was not so reliable. Sorry to upset you.

Do u sing punjini?? Just wondering what are your reasons for reacting so strongly against a singer who was pretty popular in his time??😳
