MK's voice is not as sweet as Rafi Sahab's altough styles match. He takes off like Rafi Saab but has a landing proble. Listen to Rafi in ' Zindabaad " from Mughl e Aazam. This ais a very high pitched number (perhaps a 3rd or a notch above octave) but listen to Jiske diil mein pyaar na ho woh paththar hai Insaan Kahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan agian repeats Insaan Kahaaan aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. the toughest part is to come down with a smooth blend to a perfect landing. At the same time retaining the sweetness. After Rafi saab's death, some really awful clones- Shabbir, Mohd Aziz etc got some limelight. Kumar Sanu reaped it after KK's death. What I found fascinating is that a great music director like RD could still make them very listenable- Kumar Sanu in Love Story 1942, Shabbir in Sunny.

Immediately after Ghantasala's death, there was a big void in terms of who can sing for NTR and ANR etc. To some extent Ramakrishna V, tried to fill in. But faded out soon as SPB gained ground..

2) Vinit isn't a Rafi clone, he's a Sonu clone
3) Debojit definitely isn't a KKda clone...his voice isn't powerful enough
4) Suman Kalyanpur was a Lata-esque voiced singer. She lost out because Lata was there. She was a fantastic singer though
5) Mohd. Aziz was the most successfl clone of Rafi
