Thats so sweet Mona. He will be playingit on the piano though. He loves blending western with Indian classical. It is fun to watch, but carnatic purists may not be very impressed with it. Thanks much

Ya, that song has crazy variations. When I had heard it the first time, i thought it was a simple song. But then on repetitive hearing, I realised that this song has A R Rahman class, crazyyyyyy ups n downs. Hemu did full justice.

Wonder y ID gave him only 8. I wish they explained their marks.

I can make a humble attempt at explaining why Hemu got only 8. That is because he lost sur singing "tanananana" set of lines both the times. Rest of his singing was in sur.

he lost sur???? I dont think so. I would like someone else (maybe a teacher) to listen to it and comment. It is an appeal from my side. I am learning music and would like to know if I read this correclty.

Hi Raghav... I'm a she and not a teacher.. I am just a keen listener of music.. play guitar and sing as a hobby.... and am married to a guy who plays and composes music. I just noticed the offkey notes when I was listening to the song, and also sought my hubby's consent on it before writing it out the first time... I had written this in another post earlier where ID was being bashed for giving Hemu 8.

I understand that this forum is very sensitive towards Hemachandra, and I would have kept my opinion to myself, had it not been an anti-ID post.

OK I respect that. I have a lot more learning to do in my music then.

Since you brought up ID bashing, Let me ask you then. Was Vinit deserving of the 9 from ID for his song?

Are you talking about "Baar baar haan" from Lagaan? I'll have to listen to it again to give my honest opinion ... all I can recall at the moment is that he sang in sur, but I felt that his voice sounded too "soft" to convey the determination, force, inspiration and challenge that the song is supposed to convey.
