Let's hope sir SRGM goes back to old format, I read 24 eliminated singers are coming back...though people say Nihira/Hema others souldn't come back, we shouldn't forget the ample exposure some of the finalists got.

It is true that in the smaller towns no one even speaks Hindi so they will definitely not watch this program. The cities are more cosmopolitan so they will watch.
Here in the US, I have alot of friends from South India who never saw Hindi movies when they grew.
So Tabu was not really wrong when she spoke.

By the same yardstick, a lot of the NE doesn't listen to Hindi songs, not by circumstance but by choice. They would rather listen to their own music.

Tabu was only speaking half the truth when she said the south doesn't listen...the truth is that most of the NE is even less bothered.

Agree, they already have got enough exposure.

Gajendra Singh, please don't tell us that we have a dearth of budding singers in India?.

THANKS TOPRANGER...!!

With this episode curtains fell over the Mumbai studio for SRGM 2005, the platform from where so many talented singers like Nihira/Sharib/Hema/Himani & others performed and entertained us for months.
In brief, there were 4 songs sung by each participant. Quality of songs were ordinary & easy once again, and if the songs are being given on the spot how come the tracks are ready..?

Debo: Impact of a lengthy trip of 6 months could be seen on him & his singing clearly. The song in which he shined most was the duet with Shreya : wada raha, as ID said it, Shreya had the right impact on him & he lost the sur minimum in this song, his other songs : dil kah raha hai & Ajnabee ( title song) wouldn't fetch a score of more than 7 on a genuine scale, his rendition of dil ne tumko chun liya hai was much better than these two.
Also his old problem of being a nervous starter was evident in couple of songs, I don't know why he always sings antaara much better than mukhda. I'm sure he will work on his deficiency under a genuine guru.

Vinit: To be truthful he lost sur less than Debojeet this time on an average. Though his old problems like lacking a certain polish on higher range & breath control were evident. Out of 4 songs he did most justice to Nikamma IMHO, his duet with Sunidhi ruki ruki si zindagi was fine. I was quite impressed by the track quality of this song which had beautiful rhythm programming.
On an avergae Vinit would also score somewhere around 7 in most of songs.

I can't understand the rationale of giving 10/10, that means there is no room for improvement.
In short their performances were neck to neck.

When Shaan was judging & he gave 9/10 to Vinit on Nikamma, HR pounced on him like a hungry wolve & attacked him vociferously. Shaan was left bruised & battered.
Plus there are few more antics like HR doing mantra jaap of 20, 20, 20......it will actually take a saint to condone him.
Few good things: There are no AVs & old clipping of Shreya winning the SRGM was flashed, and one could see greats like Anil Vishwas & others.

OVER & OUT..!! As SRGM comes to an end.

good post. i am curious to watch the show now.

I think the reason is pretty simple, if you bring in Himani/Nihira/Hema/Paresh, you are bound to get those SMS's from the same people who voted for them earlier for sure and they can ask for more votes from new people saying that they need new votes for them to reach further.
