My HO only:

THANKS TOPRANGER...!!

With this episode curtains fell over the Mumbai studio for SRGM 2005, the platform from where so many talented singers like Nihira/Sharib/Hema/Himani & others performed and entertained us for months.
In brief, there were 4 songs sung by each participant. Quality of songs were ordinary & easy once again, and if the songs are being given on the spot how come the tracks are ready..?

Debo: Impact of a lengthy trip of 6 months could be seen on him & his singing clearly. The song in which he shined most was the duet with Shreya : wada raha, as ID said it, Shreya had the right impact on him & he lost the sur minimum in this song, his other songs : dil kah raha hai & Ajnabee ( title song) wouldn't fetch a score of more than 7 on a genuine scale, his rendition of dil ne tumko chun liya hai was much better than these two.
Also his old problem of being a nervous starter was evident in couple of songs, I don't know why he always sings antaara much better than mukhda. I'm sure he will work on his deficiency under a genuine guru.

Vinit: To be truthful he lost sur less than Debojeet this time on an average. Though his old problems like lacking a certain polish on higher range & breath control were evident. Out of 4 songs he did most justice to Nikamma IMHO, his duet with Sunidhi ruki ruki si zindagi was fine. I was quite impressed by the track quality of this song which had beautiful rhythm programming.
On an avergae Vinit would also score somewhere around 7 in most of songs.

I can't understand the rationale of giving 10/10, that means there is no room for improvement.
In short their performances were neck to neck.

When Shaan was judging & he gave 9/10 to Vinit on Nikamma, HR pounced on him like a hungry wolve & attacked him vociferously. Shaan was left bruised & battered.
Plus there are few more antics like HR doing mantra jaap of 20, 20, 20......it will actually take a saint to condone him.
Few good things: There are no AVs & old clipping of Shreya winning the SRGM was flashed, and one could see greats like Anil Vishwas & others.

OVER & OUT..!! As SRGM comes to an end.

I liked the post. It was mature, unbiased and dignified.

I am appealing to all members to maintain this tone. I couldn't believe what I was reading in some of the posts last night. Comeone, many here are educated people, don't talk like that even if you disagree with someone or something.

And some here are kids. Do you want them to read such profanity? would you like your family to read what you write? SRGM is just another serial. Enjoy the music, take the good things, point out the bad things and move on.

Somehow..the judges were looking intimidated by the himesh and himesh was really annoying.
Debo was good in jhankaar beats song..and vaada raha. Vinit is getting undue publicity all the time. He shouts in almost all the songs and when there is alaap he tries to sing it like a word with breaks, and tried to imitate sonu all the time. His voice is not soothing at all. Sometimes its better to call spade a spade, rather then being "unbiased".
It was an episode worth missing...altogether. With HR bickering over points..and then showing clips of maestros judging the show...any sane person would go back to old format. This was not the finale one would expect..frm saregama.

Sinhaji, frankly speaking, thank God the circus is over.Though I have not watched the episode, I can just about imagine 😉 Can't comment on singing, but the show more or less has become predictable. HR pouncing on Shaan i do not want to comment, but Shaan giving Vinit anything less than 10 is very very commendable. Till now we have all seen massive boot licking on the show, best eg being As and HR with Subhash Ghai. Most of the guests were form HR camp. Shaan being a leading playback singer of today's times and HR being (controversially) the most successful MD, indeed Shaan hats off!!!Shaan did not look happy for about a month now, he was short of squirming. Good he gave vent to his feelings.
If only HR was as passionate about good and genuine music 😭

Niraj,
Wonderful report.
Thanks to Top ranger once more for letting us see this episode so soon even though I am in the USA.
My 2 cents on this
I thought the songs given were too simple. They must have been superhits but lacked lasting appeal. Also they were definitely given songs from a bank of songs.

Clearly the show caters to what sells now. The judges were coached and said all the right things. HR made his usual pitch about Vinit. The biggest laugh I got was when he said Vinit, Pyar vyar bhul jao.. Afer all the attention he got with his natak. Again, if this is what gets votes so be it.
Another point I would like to make it is that Sunidhi and Shreya showed why they are the top two singers today. they were just awesome.
I have no interest in SRGMP if they continue this way next year.
Thanks Niraj.
