😭 Looks like no one is interested in offering suggestions for 2006.

SRGMP 2005 has been too much to digest?

Great work Punjini.

One more thing, after it gets over, all mentors should give their top five list, along with top five performances overall and for each contestants. It will be intersting if they do so.

Yes, and those top 5 performances should be shown again. It will be interesting to know whether their favourites tally with ours.

Since I am a lover of classical music, I actually want to have a pure classical round or episode itself in which I want to see each contestant prepared with one classical song from a Hindi film. That will really show "kisme kitna hai dum". I particularly want to see if anyone can sing Rafi's "madhuban mein radhika naache"

Should the surnames of contestants be revealed? I mean if we just know the contestants as Paresh or Vinit, we will never know which state they are from and partisan voting might be avoided to some extent. (Of course, if someone is called Debojit or Abhijeet or Hemachandra, you would instantly know their region).

Also, should contestants be allowed to ask for votes from their respective states? I was quite surprised to find all contestants asking for votes from home states. Initially, Paresh and Swananda refrained from talking in mother tongues and asked for votes from all over India. Soon, they were forced to change their tune. I think this practise should discontinue. No one should mention a particular state.

In a country where regionalism sometimes borders on insanity, this is a dangerous practise.

But yes, I am in favour of voting analysis in the form of graphs showing zonal voting. It helps to know the mood of the national audience. This time they should include the pattern of voting of NRIs apart from North, South, East and West India.

Yes, it will be ironic if the very public that has voted out Nihira, Hema, Sharib etc makes them the top singers.

But no, next year's SRGMP will produce new stars, so I wonder whether any one person will benefit. I think music directors will have limitless choices from now onwards.

What's more, film makers like Subhash Ghai can cut costs by giving songs to Vinit instead of Sonu Nigam, to Debojit instead of Udit Narain and so on. So the older batch of singers may soon get lesser and lesser songs unless they lower their prices!

Great work punjini.

I feel that public should be allowed to vote but only to select the Most Popular singer by public choice.

There could be option to vote back a candidate in by public.

The judgement as such should be based on eminent judges, musicians choice only.

As for the cutting of rates of singers, I feel it will be a pure demand-supply market. Each singer will have a niche and will have to provide value to his/her niche segment. The segment could be Music Directors/Producers/Directors/Listeners.

Just like various brands (in consumer market) co-exist and cater to different tastes, the singers would also cater to different tastes and budgets. I really dont see a considerabel drop in rates of the established singers though.

Don't you agree to the concept of

) Public Voting - 10%

2)Studio public voting -5%

3)Orchestra people voting -10%

4)Mentor's voting (except for candidates own mentor) - 15%

5)Neutral, knowledgeable judges voting - 60%

I feel they should not disclose the zone the singer is like he is from AP, Delhi they should just consider the singing. Since they mentioned north east ,and west zone all this confusion arised. Lets leave on the singing not the home ground.
