Giggles, the whole problem is that since music appeal is subjective, there will be a 1000 different opinions.

But if we count the number of slips in sur and then award points, no one will complain about injustice.

I am OK with learned judges doing this evaluation of slips in sur instead of a chromometer or whatever (I believe it doesn't function properly in terms of detecting ragas etc. In any case most Hindi film songs are a mixture of ragas which no instrument can evaluate).

Yeah, it's good for people to have diverse opinions but in order to decide on one winner, there has to be a system. So I suggested that the judges should award points for various aspects like correct sur, taal, closeness to original song, pronunciation etc. The marks given by all the judges can be added to arrive at the final score.
