I listened to this song at least ten times. I am going to get hammered for this, I know but cannot resist.

It was great no doubt, his voice was awesome but was the song really that difficult? The part where he sings Preyasi, he had to stay on that note for 15 seconds or so. Is it really that difficult for a trained singer to do that?

Mind you, I am as big a fan of Hema as anybody out here. I am just thinking that because the standard of songs have been so easy, once someone sings a song of some difficulty, people tend to go gaga over it.

I loved the song and also feel that he is way above the rest. I feel he can sing more difficult songs than this.

thanks for reading!

"Also, if according to you any trained singer can sing this song - I wonder why no contestant tried difficult songs and sing it PERFECTLY and prove their worth."
My point was the level of songs being given are too easy. No one really sang difficult songs except Nihira and a couple of qawalis like Debo and Himani. Sharib was an exception too

Its not a very difficult song except the "preyasi" part. But its a beautiful song, very romantic. I felt that Hemu's voice made it even more beautiful and romantic. Otherwise people have tried much more difficult songs, Nihira's "saathi re", "hare rama hare krishna" and Debo's "naa to karvaan ki" was much more difficult.

i guess it's put more into perspective when you consider his age 😊 i guess the song would be not that incredibly difficult for a trained adult who has had a number of years of singing in their matured voice, but he has such an accomplished voice already 😊

not sure if that made any kind of sense at all (it's late here!) but i hope it did 😳

I remember in the preliminaries Abhijit sang a very difficult song originally sung by Hariharan. He was competing against Hemu who sang "Pehla pehla pyar hai". Hemu was given green card by Jagjeet Singh which I thought was unfair. But Hemu has a wonderful voice and in Agnipariksha he has sung many difficult songs really well. I just love his voice.

People and mentors had always put him down, for once give him the credit for giving a perfect rendition - He's out anyways and alittle appreciation won't get any lesser votes for your fav contestants.

Exaclty my point too. Even when Debo attempted a Qawwali which was considered the one of most difficult one, but he did make some mistakes which are forgiven considering that he even tried to attempt it. But when Hema attempts one and gives a perfect rendition, it's just brushed off saying any trained singer could've done that. NOT FAIR AT ALL. Sorry if it sounds rude, but I don't mean to be rude. I am just trying to make my point loud and clear.

I completely agree Nihira sang some very difficult songs and did full justice to it. NO ARGUMENTS - She's the best.

I did not brush off his effort at all. It was an excellent rendition to say the least. I feel that the standards have come down. Pls. go to my site on cooltoad and see the songs Shreya sang at 13. I am going to upload some of rahul Saxena's songs when he was the same age. They attempted amazing songs and did full justice.

Hema is capable of a lot more than this.

I do not understand the fuss over these types of songs. the way the MDs were going wah-wah, I almost thought it was staged. Seriously if any of these singers want to make it to the Bollywood industry, they should be prepared for these songs. I could have picked on any other contestant and said the same but then I will be accused of being biased.

My favorite has always been Hema
