Singing easy songs can be difficult.I never said Hema was not good and doesn't deserve an applause. Maybe I should be more direct next time. The topic should say "Songs sung these days are too easy". Thanks to all you for contributing. For this level of competiton, they should be singing far more difficult numbers more often.

Raghav

You are quite brave...to have written this.
Kumar Gaurav's analysis is 100% right, I concur with him. This song has been sung at a lower note, how much exactly....for that I'll have to sit down with keyboards in tune.

.....but he sang it very well & thats what matters.
But then I love you was much easier than many songs Nihira attempted but she got most accolade for that.
What I find uncomfortable is that people are singing what they are comfortable with. Other than Nihira tell me examples where singers have been attempting difficult & out of genre songs in advanced rounds.
This is again one reason why I appreciate Debo for singing na to karvaan ki talaash hai, how many of finalists at that stage would dare to sing that...

when I wrote Nihira & 2 octave singing I was almost eaten alive by many members and my inbox next day was full of hatemails as if I had commited a sacrilige.
This is a truth that a trained singer gets to command range early, breath control, pitch tarnsposition, command over taan & harkat in SUR are controlled much latter.

i don mean to badger you,but tht note needed to be maintained at one single level and then a new note be immediately taken on after!

Dude?

Anyway, What I am trying to say is at this stage of the competition with so much at stake, the contestants are not singing songs that really test them. Hema is the best of the lot. Hema can sing far more difficult songs than the ones he has. In fact I would love to hear him sing any of Manna Dey or Rafi's classical songs. Diction apart, he will do full justice to the notes, taans alaaps etc.

I think he has the most potential after Nihira.

Probably wasn't a very hard song, but doing the 'Priyasee' was probably the hardest part...in a live show. The second priyasee may have been the harder one because he didn't have much time to catch his breath.

Sukwinder did the 'Priyasee' in the title track, and Hariharan the rest of the song. Subhash Ghai said that they recorded for 6 days to get the 'Priyasee' just right.

You're right, he is definitely capapble of singing harder songs, but he did complete justice to this one.
