Hey Guys,

I didnt mean to offend anyone with the "strictly for adults" post. It was just to show that mentor bashing goes on unmoderated when the mentor is not HR. It was strictly to show the bias in certain mods. Not the first time it has been evident. Mods are humans, agreed, but there judgement should be more consistent with the policies and codes of conduct of this forum.

But the mods' preference and bias shouldn't compromise the application of the forum policies.

Again, my apologies for the controversial title of a post.

The title "moderator" gives them the *Right* to close the topic if they *think* that the topic breaks the code of conduct . It's not mandatory for them to put up a poll asking "To close or not to close".

My 2 cents.

i disagree totally. it gives them "privilege" to close the topic which they should exercise judiciously. closing topic without reason is not right (pun intended)

And you said it, they do not get paid for it and still work so hard and have to deal with members who can't stop posting such topics.

again, they do not get paid for this voluntary work doesn't give them right to close the topics without reason.

i agree with you. also moderators should be open to criticism and not close the topics that question their fairness especially the ones that do not use abusive language.

tumhari_khushi, the moderators are volunteers that do not get paid. this does not give them right to decide which topics get discussed on this forum and which do not. they do not have right to close the topics without giving proper reason.

Right. But, the ADMIN and OWNER of the site does have the right to decide what he wants discussed and that is in the code of conduct.

The ADMIN has given the mods the right to use their judgement to close topics as they see fit. However, this is not gundaraaj that anyone can do anything. If a mod acts unfairly, OTHER mods tick them off well and good or their mod powers are taken away.

On behalf of the entire Dev Group, I can vouch that Jem is not unfair or biased. She has not even responded/closed so many nonsensical topics about HR which even I found offensive (and I am not an HR fan)

What is FAIR and UNFAIR is a matter of judgement - lawyers, philosophers and politicians are still arguing about it and will continue to argue about it for centuries.

In response to your topic, which was closed, I think it was personally attacking JEM - that is against the COC. She merely closed the topic and asked you to PM her about it - thats NORMAL procedure here...if you have PERSONAL issued, you solve them through PM.

If you still feel a mod is unfair...If you think MY response was unfair - feel free to contact Vijay, Sree_20 or Lakshmi_Maruthi.

regards,

T.

Sorry to say, but that does not make any sense whatsoever.

If I like someone or something, I'm not allowed to express that? 😕 I would understand if Jem had something really OFFENSIVE in her profile, but this is something so simple - Greatest Himeshji Fan.

What's the big deal? And how does this affect her professionalism?

Tell me something: In cricket, when an umpire is selected, he may be a Hindu, Muslim or Christian or any other religion. Often when you say someone's name, you can guess their religion.

Does that mean that you should not say the umpire's name? Instead call them by number like Kaidi # 420?

Does announcing an umpire's name or nationality affect their professionalism?

Ok, maybe my example is a bit far-fetched, but I hope you get the point I'm making here.

Anyway, that's all I have to say on this topic.

Goodbye and regards,

T.

thanks for takin gtime to respond.

i had no fun starting a topic to question jem4srk's fairness. it was my general observation and since i didn't see that from other moderators i named jem4srk. how else would you complain about a moderator?

i did communicate with jem4srk through PM and she DID NOT respond to my particular question about why the topic was closed. is jem4srk (or any other moderator) above criticism?

and how about ports like "call to senior members" to take out cudgels on the people who criticize jem4srk?

Accha bhai sab, ab is baat ko khatam kia jaaye, moderator is human, we are also human. Rare raised this issue in good manner and it was really good debate and everybody put there nice thought. And I appreciate Moderators, who are really doing very good job. And there might be some mistakes from them, some by us and everybody is bound to do mistake. And hope in future everything will be fine and we will keep our faith in all moderators including Jem4SRK.
