I also enjoy watching music based programme, SRGMP is in its last leg now.. what we got now are the TOP singers... But II - 2 is just started.. as it progress.. one by one contestants elimiantes then it also becomes interesting.. I enjoyed last year II.. hope it wl hv same quality this time.. but after seeing last night episode.. Antra.. Jolly.. my good.. pathetic singers are selected.. hope India wl vote for the best in both programmes

I agree with you on SRGMP...I too found the earlier rounds fight/argument between AS and ID a bit spontaneous...

The quality of singers in Saregamapa is loads better than the quality of singers in Indian Idol 2 at the moment. Quite frankly, I think that the voice quality of even Abhijeet Sawant is not up to the same level as Nihira, Himani, or Hemachandra's. Even the people that got out early: Raktima, Sanchali, (and even in the first few rounds..Chirag Panchal, Shreekumar Tyagi..) were excellent.
I also heard Antara sing "Rangeela Re," and although I understand she only had a piano as accompanyment, and that few people can sound like Nihira, I still flinched, and changed the channel. She and the other contestants will need a lot of training to be able to stand their ground in an industry with Saregamapa singers that have been rigourously trained by the most established music directors of today.
