It's okay to have difference of opinion regarding contestants. That's what makes the forum fun, but when you personally attack members or get into controversies about India and Pakistan, then you're getting into water too deep than you can swim in.

I never brought it in initially. I was just reacting.
Anyway all of us know that Pakistani contestants cannot go higher than this. And I am not a Pakistani fan at all. I just love music and hatke singers that's all.
And tell me who doesnt consider nusrat, mehndi hassan, farida khanum, begum akhtar and so on and so forth as being great singers?
Don;t we love their music just as we love Kishore Kumar, Mohammed Rafi, Talat mahmood, sonu nigam, kailsah kher and so on and so forth?
All I meant was it is a music contest. people from all over the world have been selected and music should score over everything else in an ideal world. In my opinion there are singers who are weaker than Alisher. I did not freak out when khurram was eliminated because I did not consider him better than the others.
My innocent comments were given hues and shades that they didnt have. Pl refer to commenter no 1 after my post followed by the commenter with whom I have been having a spangling match.
And then one thing leads to another.

😃 ummmm just scroll back and see what your "innocent" lotus said about people who don't vote for Ali Sher....she said that Ali Sher didn't get to the top because of Zenophobes......😊 If someone labels the voting public as Zenophobes then can't blame people for getting irritated......😊 some people will never grow up.......they have to turn everything in to India vs Pakistan.....Instead of accepting that Ali Sher lost because he isn't good as the others they have to imply that Ali Sher lost because he is from Pakistan.........Such a shame that we still have people like that in this world.......😊
PS --- here's the quote "and as for coming in the bottom week after week this is bound to happen when we have zenophobic and judgmental people who vote for reasons other than purely singing ruling the roost, one of which is you I suspect"...............😃 can't believe people are taking a singing show to such extent........Music is beyon borders, gosh.........Ali sher is out because he is not good, not because he is pakistani......I wish some people would just grow up.......😊

😃 Aren't you contradicting yourself? If pakistani singers can't get higher then this like you said then how did Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan become such a big hit in India..........If many Indians are Zenophobes like you say they are then why are singers such as Nusrat, Mehndi Hasan etc. pretty popular in India? you have a warped view of the world madam........just because your favorites don't do well doesn't mean that it's about India vs Pakistan........I think you need to grow up a whole lot........😊 Ali Sher is out because he is not good........simple as that.....and if he is good let him go prove everyone wrong now.........😊

Well here's my take on today's show.

The only noteworthy performances as expected were by Alisher (so original, and so natural - not at all ill-at-ease not at all well rehearsed, not at all copying the original - and what an original!! Nusrat no less and a tough song!), so versatile and so unaffected.
A true singer who is beyond competition, never stressed out, not bothered about winning or losing, a natural and of course by Kamal (fantastic, again totally in his song and unbothered about anything else. Less courageous than Alisher but what a voice and what range!!! wah wah).
All the rest were uninteresting and lackadaisical in approach. Sugandha not a single contribution of her own, no soul, breaks in the song, the song just didn't flow.
Ranjeet in my opinion is really the weakest link and should have been the one to go but got second highest!!!!! wow talk about sympathy guys if the votes as reported by zee are to be believed!! After Alisher bowed out barely a week after having supposedly been the highest vote getter I have my serious doubts. Not that it is a revelation. One always suspected foul play right? Ranjeet was pathetic, honestly doesnt have a voice to back up his singing skills and sounds jaded and predictable.
Abhilasha a shade better than Sugandha but again nothing much to write home about. Nothing too original. Practised approach. So soul etc missing.
Bishakh again copybook style like everytime. Nothing original, no improvisations, no soul, good copying.
So all in all a very disappointing result. A true singer has been lost. The only interesting aspirant left in my opinion now is Kamal but I far preferred Alisher for his naturalness and fearlessness. Kamal does get fearless once he is into the song but before that his tension is palpable.
As for the others I think all their weaknesses and limitations came out clearly today.
Thanks for the patience. Do give your opinion.
Padma

Your comments are fair for this genre of music but do not apply generally to all genres of music.
I do not think that Ranjeet was as bad as you made him out to be. He may not be mature yet but he sang very courageously and quite well.

For other genres of music I may rank these singers differently.

Hope in future you would state the context and the yardstick that you are using when you are ranking the singers.

Ha ha plenty of Masala on this thread😆
sometimes casual remarks or a slip of the tongue can ignite a huge fire. Personally I do not take the show seriously like most persons here but it is nice to see passionate support for someone, anyone will do based on personal preferences.
So this year the wild card entries cannot win. But I like the singers this year compared to those in 2009.

Ranjeet rajwada performed better than kamal khan.
Title should go to Ranjeet.

I disagree... I'm also a huge ranjeet fan, but today was Kamal's day.
