Sniti is a very classically trained singer who truly sings each performance with her own voice. I do agree she needs speech therapy though because sometimes due to improper diction, the words are not clear. This can also effect pitching as well.

I do also agree that i did not much care for her "Aapki Nazaro" rendition either. i love this song, and I just did not find it suiting to her voice.

I agree with the part in bold.
If you hear her sing without ever having SEEN her on TV - you will not find her voice childish. I think yoy are associating her behavior (of being reserved) with her voice.
She has a voice that comes from 'old' world - very unique and she can only get better with time if she stays in the profession. She will mature (with the experiences of life) and bring this into her singing.
I like her because you can find a Abhilasha, Sugandha anywhere or even get better in singing with time.
But to have a voice like Sniti now that is rare - it does not even come with practice.

Do u think I am a fool? Even if I hear her voice with my eyes closed I would still say the same thing.

I am fed up of reading the words "UNIQUE" & "RARE". Is that the only thing a singer should have?? Doesnt a good voice quality matter atall??

We are passionate fans and there is nothing unnatural about it. Not a single singer's voice in the bollywood suits all the songs.Otherwise we would have only one singer singing all the songs. Why so many singers are there.

Similarly Sniti's voice does not suit all kinds of songs and that is also true for all the contestants in this competition. So there is no point in harping on the fact that Sniti' s voice did not suit this/that etc.

But sniti's voice only suits serious male songs which she used to sing in the beginning, it doesnt suit any general types, i mean romantic song or pop no.s etc. And when it comes to a competitions like Saregama, versatility does matter.

Coming to Sniti's voice quality, it is very rare voice , pleasant voice ,superb voice, unique voice, trained voice, and this fact has been accepted by people starting from likes of AR Rahman to ordinary listeners like me in the forum.

Judges & Celebrities coming on the show always give diplomatic comments, any show u always see judges giving standing ovations, praises & even promises to give these singers work but in end after the show is over all the singers disappear.

But there will be always many people whom her voice would not be appealing. That has to be accepted. Even OP Nayar did not like Lataji's voice and termed it as a weak voice.

Bollywood always values unique different voices. Lata, asha, kishore kumar, md rafi, mukesh, suresh wadkar, yesudas, udit narayan, etc. all have unique voices and one can differentiate them from the crowd when one listens their songs with eyes closed. That is why singers like Mahalaxmi Iyer, Shradha Pandit, etc. are not getting more songs than Shreya. Because they have similar sweet voice of Shreya and Shrey has better gayaki than both of them. Similary no MD is going to give "munni badnam hui" to Shreya to sing.

IMHO Shreya is an exception to every rule, she's an awesome singer, infact currently the best.

If a singer has both excellent gayaki and unique voice, then he/she will definitely have a place in music industry. I am sure Sniti has both and she will definitely have her share of songs in the music industry, whether people like it or not.

I am happy that Sniti is being critically evaluated, abused and ridiculed like no other contestant and this proves her worth and popularity.

😲 No one is abusing sniti over here but having a discussion & that is what the forum is meant for.

I am also sick and tired of people calling her voice unique.😳

I would call it unusual, different, not the-usual-run-of-the-mill -standard voices.

After her lisp was discussed ad nauseum by folks on the forum, i am glad she worked hard at it and the improvement shows in the past 3 weeks.👏

it would not have been easy to do it plus work at two songs for the episodes to be telecast😊

She has done it brilliantly and her hard work shows.👏

The only contestant i feel who has put in 200 percent effort week after week and her brilliant performances are a testimony to that.

May she reach the top and it will be well deserved👏
