^^ that's true but I've noticed that a lot with Sniti. Like out of my friends in my Indian group I'm the only one that appreciates Sniti's singing. I'm also the only one who knows about music. I've seen this on the forum too

True. And that's fair enough. Sniti's voice will be a niche voice for hatke singing that is for sure. And I just loved your saying "I knew you always sounded like a music person." And by the way my voice is not at all a niche voice either nor my range. I sing very low octave and have a voice that could not be placed in a choir once at the place where I teach. hehe, not even alto.

I sing in a low range too.
Half the time in choir, teacher has to put me at a tenor part!

Sniti has a very unique voice and gayaki at times...Even within the same song sometimes I am awwwed by her voice-singing and next minute I am irked with certain things which puts me off and lose interest altogether...

I think it is all a personal choice...Jo kaanoko achha lage wohi sahi...

Simi your statement about people who know music love Sniti and the ones who don't know dislike her...I find this statement bit unfair...But it is your opinion so will not debate over it...

I agree with you. When she is singing, i sit with a clenched fist without my knowledge and nervous, thinking any minute she'll have a crack in her voice kinda feeling.. :(

MD's are always looking for some unique voice, totally differnent than they have ever heard.In Sniti they see such an individual and she is very talented and well trained also. She may sound childish to few or may sound irritating to others but she is that absolutely unique one.
