It is strange because normally I dig voices that are different from the ordinary like Rcha Sharma, Jaspinder Narula, even Atif's voice not the gayaki, Kailash Kher, Surayya, etc etc but with sniti I am not always comfortable. Don't know why. Can't pinpoint the reason yet.

Abhilasha may have the most playback singer's voice but there is Shreya etc to beat to get any song.

But its my real opinion, I honestly was disappointed with her when she sang the song aapki nazron ne samjha, because its one of my favorite songs & I dint like her performance atall, i wish she had taken some other song atleast, her voice lacks maturity. I am not bashing her but specking my mind out, Her lisp is annoying & her voice sounds too childish, I was shocked to see judges not pointing out these things to her. I know she has a different style of singing but still do you really think her voice is good??

Lot of people are voting for her. Some cannot stand her voice. Other finds it childish. Shekhar wants her to make an unplugged album of old songs sung by Lata ji . He wants to hear all lata songs in her voice now. May be he is feeling too sweet in his mouth after hearing too many lata ji's songs and for a change wants a different taste. She was among the very few selected by mentors as the first choice.

With the final stages of srgmpss nearing, the war among the fans is hotting up. Sniti bashing is reaching a crescendo as her opponents see her as the strongest threat to the title. Whether she will be able to reach the final itself is a different matter as there are lots of factors working. But the sheer thought of her being in the final at the cost of their favorites is making her opponents nervous. The level of frustration has reached such a level that intemperate language is also being used like shit, crap,. People have begun to say that she does not have sur, taal, also.
Some people are also scouting through the whole forum and if some thing is written against Sniti , they are pushing the "like" button.

We are passionate fans and there is nothing unnatural about it. Not a single singer's voice in the bollywood suits all the songs.Otherwise we would have only one singer singing all the songs. Why so many singers are there. Similarly Sniti's voice does not suit all kinds of songs and that is also true for all the contestants in this competition. So there is no point in harping on the fact that Sniti' s voice did not suit this/that etc.

Coming to Sniti's voice quality, it is very rare voice , pleasant voice ,superb voice, unique voice,trained voice, and this fact has been accepted by people starting from likes of AR Rahman to ordinary listeners like me in the forum. But there will be always many people whom her voice would not be appealing.That has to be accepted. Even OP Nayar did not like Lataji's voice and termed it as a weak voice.

Bollywood always values unique different voices. Lata, asha, kishore kumar, md rafi, mukesh, suresh wadkar, yesudas, udit narayan, etc. all have unique voices and one can differentiate them from the crowd when one listens their songs with eyes closed. That is why singers like Mahalaxmi Iyer, Shradha Pandit, etc. are not getting more songs than Shreya. Because they have similar sweet voice of Shreya and Shrey has better gayaki than both of them. Similary no MD is going to give "munni badnam hui" to Shreya to sing.

If a singer has both excellent gayaki and unique voice, then he/she will definitely have a place in music industry. I am sure Sniti has both and she will definitely have her share of songs in the music industry, whether people like it or not.

I am happy that Sniti is being critically evaluated, abused and ridiculed like no other contestant and this proves her worth and popularity.
