It is well known that Raj sahib was instrumental in success of Shankar Jaikishan. He also introduced legendary poet Hasrat Jaipuri into Hindi films. He used to sit down with L-P, S-J, Ravindra Jain & others and be there is recording studio till he got the right effect & mood, he often asked brass players & accordion players to play popular pieces from old Hindi films, his contribution is legendary.

His strong sense of music enabled him to select L-P for Satyam Shivam Sundaram, R Jain for RTGM.

whe Rishi had to shoot for parvat ke is paar & dafli wale in Sargam (L-Pji) he took training from a dafli players regarding how do they shrug shoulders, how they do theka and what they do with fingers, for 6 weeks prior to shooting..!

Before Karz he tokk guitar lessons to correctly hold guitar tomimick a guitar player closely. Before this film Bollywood had culture of a hero holding guitar like gada (mace) without any movement while it sounded yummy..!

There are many examples like this.
