For the first time today, I listened to the song Raat Ke Dhai Baje from Kaminey. And the song was fine, until I heard a voice that made me go 'WHAT'? I could swear that it was Suresh Wadkar's evergreen voice. And I come home and check and it really is him. My question is why THIS song and why is he singing with Kunal Ganjawala and Sunidhi Chauhan? Its so random.

Here's the song for those who haven't heard:

And agreed that this thought did not deserve a whole topic. Therefore, I'm calling it random and people can use it to jot down any other random thoughts (music-related of course) that pop into their heads. :)

Randomly getting back to square one...
It's a little odd that you found Suresh Wadkar singing this song odd. Even Mohd. Rafi and Lataji have sung all sorts of songs: frisky, frivolous, comical, playful and so on. Then, why can't SW sing such a song? Gulzar sahab has written this song ('Bidi jalai le' was also penned by him). He (Gulzar) is a thorough pro and getting more liberal with age. So, is it really beneath him (SW) to sing this song? I don't think singing with Kunal or Sunidhi makes him any less respectable either. It shows that he is open-minded and do not judge songs by genre or degree of seriousness.

I hadn't heard this song ('dhai baje') attentively before. It's nice and foot-tapping, ain't it?😛 Not as trashy as 'mind-blowing mahiya' or 'ding dong ding dole'. So. I've no prob.😃

A similar song sung by Suresh Wadkar...
