I have been watching Saregamapa intermittently and it is getting interesting now but I have no idea how this card system works - and what is the next level of competition?

Thanks for helping out this interested but confused person i.e. me 😃

Each round is conducted in two parts. First part, all of the contestants sing and a boy and a girl gets a green card, meaning they can move into the next round. In the second part, the remaining contestants compete again and again a boy and a girl gets to move into the next round. The remaining contestants are voted off the show. Hope that makes sense. I don't watch it regularly either so its possible that there is more to it.

I think you want to find out about the future rounds-

The green card holders have moved directly to the finals (agnipariksha).

The blue card holder will have to take part in another semi final (chakraviuh) from which two of them (male and female) will reach the finals.

The finals will be most probably invite public voting.

About the brahmashtra- we are still not sure as to how and when will the be used

Actually, one male and one female will be selected through BRAHMASTRA who will join the contestant list for AGNI PARIKSHA...

We need to wait and watch...

Right now the order is ROCK, JAIHO, YALGAR & DUM.

I guess the same position is the final. In that case, I am not sure which gharanas will get chance to call their favourites. Top 3 gharanas or only from Top 1 Gharana? Out of this they will select one male and one female contestant.

I hope the BRAHMASTRA selection will not give way for any contraversies...!!!

No. I dont think ROCK gharana will be able to get 3 male and 3 female contestants. The fair thing would be top three gharanas should get 1 / 1 each and select the 1/1 for the AGNIPARIKSHA round.

Other wise, only ROCK should get 1 male and 1 female and they should participate in AGNIPARIKSHA.

Any other case means, it is fooling the audience and the contenstants only.

Actually I think this is how Brahmastra round will work:

After Chakravyu round, which ever Gharan gets most popular voting, that Gharan mentor will have choice to select 3 male and 3 female from any gharana. Those 6 people will then compete in Brhamastra round. In Brhamastra round, people will be able to vote for the final two out of the six. Final 2 being 1 male and 1 female.

If I was the mentor my selection would be:

Male: Ashiwaraya, Viswas and Abhijeet
Female: Joyita, Ujanni, Koila
