If Om Shanti Om Belong to T series than its Remix can be only done by T Series and not Tips.
Ek Hasina Ti Remix can be only done by Saregama HMV and not by Tips or T series.
That is why T series has to first buy copyrigts of this song.
A person will get to remix a song and sell it Commercially only if he has Copy Rigts.
Even if Asha Ji give Tribute to RDB than she will be allowed only by the owner comapny otherwise she need to buy copyrigts if she is going to sing for some other company.
These are some basics rules of Music Industry Please note.

@ anuradha

If you hate IDLI SAMBHAR that does not mean the enire wolrd hate it.
Rafta Rafta was declared a hit song that shows majority like it if you don't like than its just a matter of your taste.

Why didn't T-Series come to defend Himesh or Sameer while they know very well that the song is T-Series intellectual property?? Himesh knows that this movie is not to become a big hit and all these publicity will help him, but in turn it will turn negative for him.. As asked by SS, why didn't Kally come out and charge T-Series for it??

Now, even if Himesh and Sameer had lifted the song, they must have given atleast the credit.. I listened to both versions, and there is no any difference between the songs.. Its not re-creation - its complete lift.. They could have easily given him the credit both for music and to the lyricist.. Now if he had given the due credit, no one would have been in question here..

This is what every MD must do.. If they are getting inspired by any song, then give the credit saying inspired by so and so band or MD.. This will solve most of the issue and everyone will get their due credit.. This is an industry and its better to work in as a team rather than copying the work of one member and giving the credit to themselves..

Now just a question to those who are defending this act - If you are working in a team and some member from another team copies your work, will you not object them?? How will you feel when your own work is being copied by another member of someother team??

Sorry could not stay away from this one.
Just to make a few points.
1. HRs music is very popular and it is loved by a large number of people and each one has his own taste and choice just like you have and so I will not get into individual likes and dislikes.
2. When you say why Himesh did not give credit to Kally ??? This is an absurd charge, coz its not in HRs hands to give credit or discredit. Once the songs are made / composed or re-arranged / re-created by the MD they are handed over to the music company. The recording, printing etc is the job of the Music company. SO it is T-series call as to what goes on the CD and what not. There is no question of giving any credit by HR.
3. The working of Music industry has been explained by Vijay and so it is clear that HR is just doing his job.
4. As to why T-series did not defend HR ? Well they have done and Bhushan Kumar has made the statement. Plus it was actually smart of Kally to accuse and drag HR into this coz he wants the publicity. If he would have just spoken against T-series, no one would have commented and he would have lost his bread and butter. Since HR is a bigger name, you will try to attack him to get the publicity.
If HR wants publicity, he does not need to associate with a 'virtual nobody (with due respects to him)' since that will not get the desired impact.
5. Well if my boss asks a colleague of mine to work on a report and he works and submits it to the boss. The boss then maybe is not happy with the report or maybe asks some additional details to be added to the report and gives it to me for improving on it or getting a new perspective. I work on it and submit it back.
Its for the boss to decide whom he wants to give credit to. Ideally he should give to both but the 1st employee cannot hold a grudge against me if the boss does not want to give him credit coz I have never gone and claimed the the Report is 100% MY WORK.
If HR would have claimed credit for the song then and only then your theory would apply. This is the clear case of Employee vs boss and not employee vs employee.
The question is, does the Employee have the guts to challenge the BOSS or will he chicken out and save his bread n butter. This is a situation we face very commonly in corporate industry. Nothing new.

Vijay do not argue with Anu as she is a ladey. Let it pass. I have given up arguing with ladies centuries ago.
I fully support your Himeshji and am very glad that he came with the Karzzzz songs. He sings with a lot of soul and feel. Your information on Himeshji has been most useful to me.

Hello ReemAnshu nice to see you. Yes Himeshji is only complying with the Movie producer's request. Vijay is great and has done much research on Himmy Bhai. He is a great lover of sentimental songs which I find pretty cute.

Now about Ek Haseena Thi - there are many songs that are a remix of the original version.. If you consider such a point, then according to you all those songs that have been remixed are to be named lifts???
They are not a lift, everyone knows its a remix version.. Now there is a difference between remix and lift.. Neither Kishore Kumar nor LP is going to sue Himesh for it..

If such is the case, then Asha bhosle will have to sue herself for recreating various songs of RDB 😆 Himesh would not have been blamed, if the due credit was given to the original singer and composer.. In this case its a lift not a remix version...

My dear than Even I can say Soniye Jee tere Naal is a remix.
Then do you think that T series is a fool to buy copy rigts of Ek Hasina Thi song.
Anuradha this shows your knowldge about music industry.
My comments are useless beause to understand them you require some basic knowlege that how music industry work which you Don't have.
Maan gaye yaar. Moderator ko bhi nahi chhoda apne. By the way i agree that u know lot about how music company functions.

Himesh has sung a song without his famous nasal twang

Kunal M Shah

Himesh Reshammiya
Himesh Reshammiya recently recorded the Kishore Kumar hit 'Ek hasina thi' for his upcoming film Karzzzz.

But it was a recording with a difference. Himesh has sung this song without his quintessential nasal twang.

'Yes, I have sung this song without a nasal twang for the first time. I have stuck to the original soul of the song and not tampered with it,' said Himesh.

Obviously he believes that a classic cannot be tampered with, even by Himesh Reshammiya. The song was filmed at a suburban studio.

'I've composed the other seven songs in the film, which are very contemporary,' added Himesh. 'Ek hasina thi' is the only track that has been borrowed from the original Karz. T. Series has bought the rights of 'Ek haseena thi' from HMV for their remake Karzzzz.

Himesh has stuck to his astrologer's advice and brought forward the release of Karzzzz from December to October, according to our source.

Karzzzz is directed by Satish Kaushik. It stars Urmila Matondkar, Dino Morea and Danny and marks the debut of Shweta Kumar.

This article was written before this conterversy.
Two points to be noted.
1) Himesh said that T Series has bougth the copyrigts of the song Ek Hasina thi. So T Series the the owner of the song. Himesh is just a singer. If any credit has to be given it should be done by T Series.
2) Most imporant that himesh said he has composed 7 song in Karzzzz
Karzzzz has 9 songs out of which 7 has been composed by himesh
1) Dhoom Tere Ishq Ki
2)Hari Om Hari Om
3)Lut Jaaon Lut Jaaon
4)Masha Allah
5)Sisak Sisak Ke
6)Tandoori Nights
7)Tere Bin Chain Na Aave

So himesh himself has said that he has not composed two song ( Ek hasina thi, Saoniye Je tere Naal)

Since this article belongs to before conterversy I can also say himesh have not kept any one in Dark

It is not that I dont know about the so called music rules of the industry.. And my first post clearly said that its all done for publicity and also asked why didn't kally sue the T-Series company?? You were the ones to start defending that this is not a publicity stunt..

FYI - I am not against Himesh.. I am just trying to make my point against plagiarism.. Now just answer me this question - T series could have easily gone ahead with the name of Kally as the music director.. I have heard both the songs and I dont see anything being re-created over here.. Not only the song, but also the lyrics has been taken for the song.. So, why was Sameer given the credit for the song?? Isn't it unethical?? Well, the music industry rules in itself should be redefined.. Give the credit to the original music composer and also the lyricist.. Well, if the music directors want, they can easily give the credit to the original composer..

Now coming to the other part about Rafta Rafta song.. I said IMO - meaning In my opinion.. I never made any generalized statement..

I would like to end this discussion with just one question.. When Kally knows about the music rules, then why did he drag Himesh into the court while he knew he will loose?? This clearly proves everything has been done for the publicity of the film and nothing else.. 😛 Its a give and take policy.. Both Kally and the film get the popularity because of this...

Just one question.. When he can mention about Ek hasina thi, the original song then why not soniye je tere naal?? It is his personal interview right?? Then why not give due credit to the original singer and composer?? This clearly mentions about the lift.. How will the comman man know which song has been lifted and who was the composer?? If Himesh had to make it clear, then he would have mentioned the name of the original composer and singer!!!

Well he cannot mention Soniye je tere naal as the interview and topic is about Ek Haseena thi. When he is being asked about that song in particular, why would he bring in another song ?? Himesh does not need to mention Kally when he is being asked about Ek haseena thi.
Plus I want to point out that the song Soniye je.. is not written or composed by Kally but it is by Ustaad Hussain Baksh Gullo. It would be interesting to see if Kally has given any credit to the original composer. I have seen on the net and dont see his album mentioning original composer anywhere but still someone who has the CD needs to confirm that.
Why is he crying foul then ? as if he wrote and composed the song in the first place ? He bought the rights for that song and then used it without giving any credit. Now T-series has the rights of the song and if they do the same then he cries murder ???
And why would t-series and HR want publicity out of someone who probably is not know even by a few hundred people outside of punjab ?? If T-series needs publicity they have RGV or Yash Raj to clash with and if HR needs publicity then he has the SRGMP platform.
