Hello Friends

I know its long time since you all had grilled someone 😆 You all must be waiting eagerly to grill and roast someone on the hotseat.. Well, here the opportunity begins 😉

This time the member on the hotseat is a pool of talent with regard to music and his favorite composer being RD Burman.. He has been quite active in the forum giving out review about every episode and every contestant... 😊 He has been very helpful even with other musical discusions and has always been appreciated for the topics created.. Yes friends, I am talking about none other than:

👏👏 Indradhanush 👏👏

Congratulations Indradhanush and All the best 👍🏼 This is the first time you are sitting on the hotseat, so expreience the difference 😛 😆

Few questions from me:
  1. What made you stick to IF?
  2. Is there any other show you are interested apart from the musical reality shows?
  3. Your hobbies..
  4. Fav singer, actor, actress and movie
  5. Name one song of RD Burman which you feel has been the most overrated/underrated
  6. One song in the recent times (Read after 2006) which you feel has not received the credit
  7. What kind of questions do you expect and what kind of questions you prefer answering??
Thats it for now.. Will come back after you reply the set 😃

Have a funfilled week 😊

Few questions from me:

What made you stick to IF?

Active forum, lots of members.

Is there any other show you are interested apart from the musical reality shows?

Not really

Your hobbies..

Music, films, reading, history, international politics, travelling.

Fav singer, actor, actress and movie

AB, Amir Khan, Pryanka, SHOLAY all time favourit recently I loved tare Zameen Par, may Amir make more films like this.

Name one song of RD Burman which you feel has been the most overrated/underrated

Quite a few underrated actually; remember his stint in 80s where his movies flopped but songs shined, one such B grade movie is sawere wali gadi starring sunny deol, it has quite a few very good songs, there are others from same era like dhadkan pal pal badhti jaye (Arjun) what a jem in term s of orchestration.

Over rated 1942 a love story when he has done far better work before, the songs are mostly old compositions of RDB and entire back ground score is raag desh.

One song in the recent times (Read after 2006) which you feel has not received the credit

Dil jo bhi kahey by Shankar EL and Songs of vivah by Ravindra Jain

What kind of questions do you expect and what kind of questions you prefer answering??

Everything let the heat be on

Iam a disorganised person and a musicbuff just like all of you, Iam a professional currently based outside India, no great ambitions, just carry on in the flood, no mile stones achieved ha ha had planned a lot, any way. I m pretty well read in terms of being a senior professional but still trying to be a better human being every day. Hope God blesses me one day.
Yes Im a musician by heart like all of you, I do play a few instruments and I was part of rock band (blast from past 😆).

This forum consists of a lot of members who probably are younger, so they might think differently hence I keep patience. Plus it helps in preventing bad blood.

You claim to be a teataster, gardener and cook. Must be joking right?
But I love tea too, more than anything. I drink black, green, flavoured and various teas without milk as I love its pure taste. What type of tea do you drink?
So apart from music do you have other hobbies, sports etc.
Nice to know you were a band member. Did you guys cut any records?
Great Job keep it up.😊
👏

no specific tea summer, yes i was part of band 5D which persished, have seen recording room a few times, have made groove for many songs on keyboards but never cut an album, goin g by the current standard of private albums any one can do that I guess.

I am not currently in Calcutta, but when was there we used to organise cultural programmes for miscellaneous clubs and thats how I came across Abhijeet, Alka, Kavita ji and others, I really miss the musical atmosphere of calcutta, every house has taanpura and harmonium I guess (though I am not a Bengali), we always celebrated Pancham's birth day with a lot of fun and gusto there, we even coereced fellow Radio Jockies there not to play any thing other than RDB during his B day time.
I am still associated with quite a few RDB fan club, recently my friends organised RDB memorabilia programme in Singapore in the world's famous theatre there, they got all the original musicians of RDB to play there, I wish same respect was paid to many other stalwart musicians who didnt get recognition after death like Salil da, Madan Mohan etc.

Some time later I shall upload few grooves of mine some where and let you know.

Wow looks like u really rocked in those days. Did not know that music was both your's n Kolkatta's life blood.😊 Music sung in groups can really create a great atmosphere.
No wonder Kolkatta persons are really fired up.👏👏👏
Keep up the good work and wish you all the success.

tumse milke zindagi ko yu laga (chor police), out of world, what a composition, dont know which genre will this fit in..! RDB has done a great job here, once we counted and there are more than 50 songs in this category which are truly gem from 80s and went completely un noticed.
