I would give 4 reasons what's driving us to replace them:

1) We get more animated emoji ready to be used instead of just limiting to 40 odd smileys. And in that too only 10 are actually animated.

2) It wont look nice to have multiple style of emojis in the same post.

3) If you have noticed, gif images are not enlargeable and it pixelates a lot when the size is increased but that is not the case when we increase the size of the emoji.

4) New system gives us the flexibility where we can delay the load of animation depending on the device and network speed of the user. Also if the user device supports Lottie it will show the animated emojis and if it does not the user will see the non-animated keyboard emoji.

However, I completely understand that many of our members love these classic smileys and this is why we are continuing with them unless we bring in another set of animated emojis. For the moment only older posts before 1st July 2023 is getting updated.

I'm going to miss these emojis alot 🤣🤪

There goes another novelty factor of IF in the BIn...the old emojis are just what makes IF IF.. usp but sure change them for generic too..and not leave anything entertaining here 🤷🏻‍♀️

Kinda bummed over this emoji change is occurring because these emojis were far more lively than the ones that suggested. Conversations using the animated emojis make discussions quite fun & lively as opposed to non-animated ones which are quite generic and can be found on the emoji keyboard.

some of the emojis dont even represent their predecessors like 🤓😒

i think IF is now used by 99% new members only and the changes have made rest of old members like me very inactive or leave IF completely.

If we can keep these 10 emojis as is, and remove the other 30, is that possible. Most others don't have that much animation or they have very close non-animated versions available. These 10 are the charm of IF and mostly used IMO.

If that's a possibility, please explore.
