The decision to remove the existing 40 emojis was due to the heavy load they were putting on the server, because of many years of the usage that lead to the accumulation of several TB of space. Wouldn't getting 400 animated emojis and years of using them put additional load in the future?

Just checked those 400 animated emojis at random and they don't even come close to the classy IF 40 emojis. I think it's a good option to convert previous emojis used in historical posts, which would help save storage space. This way.. we can continue to use existing 40 emojis while periodically probably annually keep replacing the animated emojis back to static ones.

I guess those 10 emojis are fine but emoji has its own charm.

Only emojis I would be happy getting rid of are 🤣and 😊. Former one stans use to irritate and the other one just gives eerie vibes.

Honestly that sounds so much better. No one really goes back to old conversations so it's better to convert animated emojis to static ones periodically to save space.

Well it would not affect that much as machines will get faster and animated emojis will be vector images and using Lottie / dotLottie animation instead of traditional GIF animation.

nooo, i like the current animated emojis waaaay more. we should keep these and expand the collection lol 😒 they remind me of msn and older forum days because that's where we used to have them and they were fun to use! now we only have them here. you're getting rid of them too? 😵
