So I am not sure why but I am not completely able to dislike Satrupa as a mother. Lot of people are saying that Satrupa is selfish and a bad mother but I just can't seem to judge her motives right now.

Satrupa can be cold but she isn't coming out to be evil either. I am not sure why I am not able to totally dislike her as a mother. I guess it can be because she was such a protective, fierce, and strongly connected mother to Vatsalya?!

I really want to hear what her opinion is in all this. She's so silent and distant right now. I want her to share what she's feeling.

If anyone has noticed Anami's totally like her too. Both of them are hiding their feelings and emotions so fiercely right now. They are both carrying a certain agenda in their mind right now. One wants to get her daughter as the heir and the other just want to bring tsunami in the Red Mahal 😆

Anyway, I feel like giving Satrupa's character more time to develop than getting into a conclusion of her being a bad-bad mother. What she did back when the twins were born by selecting her son even though he was the first child and was in danger was wrong. But then again Satrupa never mentioned why she did what she did.

Could be because the male heir would've got the property, or she thought she will be sexist and pick the boy, or she just closed her eyes and picked a child. IT was only Guruji who said she was in moh-maya of her son. But blah Satrupa still hasn't accepted the reason. Well okay even if she picked a son over the daughter, we can't totally hate her for that! Maybe she wanted a boy! It doesn't mean she is sexist!! Jeez okay whatever. Now I am kinda talking to myself- -

The point is, I can't seem to hate her as a mother yet. It does look like she's being selfish by bringing her daughter like this right now. But I can't pin point why I am not disliking her as a mother... I mean at times when she looks at Anami, (for example the car scene when Anami accepted water from her, and then when Anami walked into the hall in the last episode!), she looks so happy and full of pride! It's heart touching! ❤️

Does anyone feel like not hating Satrupa as a mother or is it just me? 😆

there is something about her due to which I can't dislike her

she is a layered character which makes her more interesting

she is grey shaded but not completely evil which is rare to see on Indian Tv

usually a person is completely black or white

her character is complex so with time we will understand her more

@Bold: So true! Also she's not shown doing something for other or because someone else told her to do so or she's just majboor or helpless. Nope, none of that. Her power and presence is too strong to make the audience hate her too

Other than Avdhoot i really dont dislike anyone in this show lol
Im liking satrupa as a character bt as a mother not so much not bcoz she is a sexist n she chose boy over girl NO bt she doesnt evn think abt her other child while celebrating her one childs birthday dhoomdham se n she dint evn think about her other child when she tried to kill herself n when guruji told her abt Anami it was like oh ya i forgit moment lol

P.S u never knw with cvs high chances of showing satrupa taking 48hrs of vrath for her two kids

What Satrupa did when the twins were born was wrong BUT I do not dislike her .

The fact that she never even bothered to check on her girl child for all these years was bad , very bad , BUT I do not hate or dislike her .

She thought of her daughter only when the topic of inheritance came up BUT still I can not bring myself to hate her...

I will hate her ONLY if she turns out to be the woman in green saree responsible for Narrotam to be what he is now.

@Bold: Un-hun! I see what you mean there. God girl, it did look like Satrupa's saree too! I honestly thought it was her saree when I re-watched that scene yesterday!

@Bold: Damn that's right. She didn't even remember she had a child... though it can be a brain mechanism to get over the grief of loosing a child, but I understand what you mean there.

Omg the vrat/fast comment 🤣 Yeah anything can happen... we already have the proof of that Mahabharata's Arjun and Krishna quotes that they read the other night... That was super random and felt like that Kuch-bhi moment 😆

@there was article mentioned where it was written that she brought up narottam as girl

it is very much possible that for greed and power she brought up narottam as girl so that her child become the waaris

she accepted baldev illegimate child and entered into loveless marriage for the power of the house

it is very much possible

if she can give away her daughter for selfish reasons so obviously she will not treat baldev illegimate well whom she hates

ME...I actually like her... Yup I did dislike her in one scene, which is when she chose boy over gal (that laid the path for a lot which s happening right now in Red mahal).. Apart from dat she seems to be fine and an example for how manipulative a girl/woman should be in this era... mainly when it cums to our own kin 🤔...

I really hope creatives justifies why satrupa sway away Anami instead of Vatsalya in the first place..And I seriously wish that Satrupa is not d one who made Narottam to do classical dances and reason for his effeminism.. :-S

If ppl call satrupa as selfish, power monger, blah blah... I wonder what dey call Pujan and his wife?? 😆

I had this same conversation with friends a couple of days ago. I can't hate Satrupa either. I felt she chose to keep Vatsalya not because she loved her son more than her daughter but because of traditional dictates saying the path for her son to inherit would be smoother than for a girl. Perhaps she should have fought for her daughter straight way but the other consideration was that Vatsalya was the eldest and therefore the rightful heir. No denying that the power that came with being the mother of the heir when the father is already disinherited must have been a consideration too, though if it was a subconscious one or well thought out remains to be seen. Yesterday there was a subtle look of pride on her face when Anami walked into the room, I have no doubt for Satrupa's love for Anami regardless of what she may be hoping to gain by bringing her back to LM.

What I have an issue with is that she never once tried to find out if her daughter was ok in the past 17 years. Perhaps the loss of her first set of twins put an irrational fear in her mind that she should have contact with only one child? I don't know but I love the fact that we have beautifully flawed characters with human fears, emotions and reactions. We are a sum total of our life experiences and that is true for every character in this show.
