Hi Priyanka, I am fine dear... Sorry to hear that the episode was a letdown for you... Maithili/Samrat/Mohini issue is very common in real world and I really wish CV's handle it well...

@bold, it is not just ignorance... Unfortunately, it is people deliberately being ignorant to the truth... Not that most of them don't know... It is just that they don't care...

Ironically, this evening I came across this article... Would like to share it with you

I article was very informational and intriguing ofcourse. Thanks for sharing. I hope they handle this track well because infertility is a sensitive issue itself. I loved the way Mailthili stood up today and hope Samrat grows a spine and supports her...he needs to prove his stand beyond saying how much he loves her in their bedroom.

@msin, That is so disturbing... How could educated people do such things? It is not that uneducated people doing it is justified... At least we can say that they don't have knowledge.. And the worst thing is these are all women who are saying this about girl child's.. Disgusting... What is wrong with people? One thing I never understand... How could woman/man kill/abort a fetus just because it is a girl... Just typing this is making feel sick..

@Sherry, 👏👏... That is how these people should be shut up. What is it with people and male child??? this is insane.

@Priyanka, I totally agree... Having, not having, adopting, not adopting, the number of kids must be up to the parents to decide not the society or extended family or friends... I too have a beautiful daughter and we both are very happy with having just one child... Lucky for me, everyone in my family love girls... They all pamper her like hell. But few friends and relatives keep pressuring us to have one more.. I was so fed up that I one day asked one of them to move into our house and take care of the second kid saying I can't do complete justice to both of them... It gets hard to explain the same thing to the in-laws though and that's where woman might need man's support.. It is really irritating when they pressure you to have kids.

And Abuse can happen both ways... I saw men who suffered because of their wives/her family and so on... When I first saw it, I was shocked but now, I understand that it is common too.

Minuu...You have a daughter too😛...how old is the little one? Mine just turned 3. She has everyone wrapped around her little finger...especially my husband and her grand dads😆. Having lost my mother at a very young age I actually have grown very close to my MIL...from the time we met she has been very nice to me and somewhat very protective. It's funny during the time my husband and I were dating...we had a huge fight and broke up but instead of supporting Jeff, she supported me.
Ofcourse, men are abused too...it's just, we don't get to hear it often.
As far as I know, bigamy is illegal in India. The status of these so called second wives in India or actually their lack of status comes to light mostly when the husband dies. Yes, Chinna Veedu or Chinna Illu ( Tamil and Telugu, both meaning small home - Chinna -> small and Veedu/Illu -> home) is a widespread practice. However, when it comes to property distribution, its pretty much to one or the other wife and children - whichever can prove the first marriage.

NONE OF THIS IS LEGAL IN INDIA! Which means that such marriages are not legally recognized and therefore the rules of legacy do not apply. At the end of the day, the heir is to ensure the continued ownership of property.

So to show this on TV really should not be for entertainment but as a social issue. I am sure this track will end positively, though. I have faith in the RR creatives and writers. When they have been pretty progressive thus far, I do not see them being any less. Besides which, Rudra and Paros stand on the second marriage is also important and it will be dishonest to their characters if they are complicit with this situation.

The only way a man can marry more than one wife in India is to convert to Islam. Under Indian law, a muslim male can have upto four wives within the statutes of his religion. The classic example is Dharmendra and Hema Malini, who converted to Islam so that he could marry her. Their conversion and marriage certificate was published in the papers decades ago!
Thanks for the details...I hope the cvs execute this track with sensitivity because it's an issue which can evoke pain in many household ...specially women. Awareness is very much required for a progressive society.
