Okay that kind of explains things, but then is a man's ego so fragile that he cant handle the independence and self-reliance in a woman? But then that is the stereotype of male lead in every love story.. More so in case of Rudra i guess..This explanation actually makes me feel bad for Laila (for the first time). If a girl's being independent or having her own mind, her own opinions and the courage and capability to carry out what she wants makes her less worthy of a man's affections, its a sad sad world..No offence intended, i was merely thinking aloud..

it doesn't make her less worthy of 'every' man's affections di. it just means Rudra was not the man to appreciate those qualities in her in the pov of a lover/soulmate/companion for life.
Its not what suited Rudra's life partner.
There would be a man out there who would consider a fragile thing like Paro that would need protection a too much work or unsuitable to his needs n would prefer a Laila's independence...
edit: sorry I know another really looonnnggg post...just got carried away😳so the moral of the story is...that none of the three are in love, in this so called love-triangle...they are all on the pathway to love...
Paaro who was in the illusion of idealistic love is now going to face the truth about love...that it is a road filled with thorns, but at the end has beautiful view...is she strong enough to go down it?
Laila, who does love rudra...but doesn't know him...she only loves a side of him, thinking that is all that there is to him, for never in those eight year did she delve deeper to know the true him, ...she will learn that he is not an animal but a human...and it is up to her to decide whether she can accept that...can she love all of him, the soft rudra along with the hard one?
And Rudra...he will find what true love really is...and go with that...he will learn that true love is accepting, understanding and caring, regardless of who or what you are...he will learn that he is capable of giving love as well as receiving it...something he thought he wasn't ever since his mother left...but one of these girls will make him realise that...that it wasn't his fault...his love wasn't in deficiency, it was his mothers'... he needn't shy away from love for it made for him too...it is made for anyone who will give it a chance...😃
n wow...I think I should stop visiting this post to save you all essay upon essay of my musings...😛

Interesting question.
Whether or not Rudra adheres to the age old of belief, is something only Rudra knows till now, so until Rudra voices it, I am going to give him the benefit of doubt.
The way I see it, theirs was a relationship with terms and conditions. No promises were made. There was no affection from Rudra's side to begin with. The only thing that was there was desire. He was seeking for a release and he found it with Laila. He went there every night, found comfort and even talked about his mother, when he couldn't talk about it with anyone else. He found it easy to talk to her because she has no connection with his life, his family.
There has to be reasons beside physical attraction to fall in love with someone and that could be any one or a combination of things. Common interests, respect, admiration...I am stating a few things that comes to mind right now.
The relationship was always about Rudra...what he wanted...what he needed...and Laila provided that. It was never about THEM...never about her. Whatever I have understood about Laila, she was all for pleasing Rudra...that's the only thing that mattered to her. At some point, she fell for him, but what did she do about it? Did she ever talk about herself?...did she ever want Rudra to be the listener for a change...I doubt it. I don't see how the relationship could have evolved from Rudra's side.
Even when she fell in love with him (although I think it's obsession)...she was never assertive. She was happy to be in the no-strings attached relationship...she was happy with her status as his mistress. Even though she desired for more and dropped hints, she never really stood up for herself, until Paro came into the picture. She would have continued with their arrangement.
From Rudra's POV he doesn't owe her anything. He never made any false promises.
As for why he fell for Paro? Well, it started off with attraction...but then it evolved. He really fell for the person that is Paro. She managed to strike a chord with him which Laila failed to so. It's not that he didn't feel anything for her in eight years. He did say that he considered a friend, but nothing more than that.
I don't really feel sorry for Laila because she knew what she was getting into. She isn't a victim, she wasn't cheated.
And I doubt Laila might have found it difficult to accept this kind of relationship. It was always implied that she was a promiscuous lady.
four major life shattering things took place in major rudra pratap ranawat's life...his father's near death, his suspension, his marriage and then his near death...
