He's a really good actor and does any type of scene really well, as well as the emotional ones, but I do think he does go a little bit over the top when doing them.

To me he is a good actor, better than some, but having said that, yes, I feel he can't perform emotional crying scenes properly ... he seems to be holding himself back (as in not acting naturally), it comes across either as ott, or in my case as not being emotionally invested in the scenes. Part of which is the director's fault.😉

I honestly don't think he was being OTT. I think he was right on target. He's supposed to be that way. His vulnerability and hurt is supposed to be that dramatic. I can say this from personal experience. When a parent, or both in my case, abandon, you turn into someone like Rudra. You really are afraid to accept anything good that happens to you because you've only seen the bad. Sorry, I'm getting senti here, but I completely empathise with Rudra, and I think Ashish deserves a standing ovation for his par excellence acting.
