Ashish is a good actor, but he needs to tone down his emotional scenes.
It's a combination of director and actor that creates the impact on a scene.
Even if he tends to go too overboard, the director should instruct him.

Because if that I wasn't quite moved by Rudra's tears today.
Hope he takes this as constructive feedback

I thought it was quite a natural continuation of yesterday's scene. Rudra was already quite emotional and it naturally took him to the place which is deeply connected to his emotional part i.e his mother and the ghosts haunting him since childhood. Now that he felt so close to Paro, he let out and bared his heart to her. I thought Ashish did quite fabulously. The expression of fear and anticipation of having to face his mother was beautifully portrayed by him.
Somehow didn't mind the tears. As Paro said..Let it go...😊

His so called OTT emotional scenes are only when he is trying to open up to ONLY person...PARO...
as viewers we are privileged to see this break down...otherwise it's more of a personal affair between the two...Not a public affair...

Men have this soft corner in them which they open up to maybe only 1person on the planet...
So for the rest it appears OTT...

Besides he is still waiting for his mother and the soo many un answered Qs...

I think the question should be:

Would we think it's overly emotional had it been a female character?

Rudra, as a male, BSD officer, strong, handsome, protector and brave is often seen to be the stereo typically lead male: Resilient. Silent. Stoic.

There are cultural norms associated with that: Don't cry, don't whine.

I don't think Ashish's acting is "overboard". It's simply a stark contrast to our expectation of Rudra Pratap Ranawat's character, and contradicts the male stereotypes we have in our heads.

Emotions- positive, negative, happy, tearful- shouldn't be seen as "overboard" particularly when males are doing them because the societal norms of males having emotions need to evolve from the traditional sense to a more holistic one.

I think the scene called for his emotional resonse to be so intense. We had to witness the breakdown of a floundering man.In order for him to accept Paros love he himself has to deconstruct his tough image. The hard exterior has to crack to show that raw pain inside. His wound is still gaping and if that is touched he will flinch.
Was he melodramatic?I believe not but he was certainly dramatic. To explain to a girl you want that you are incapable of feeling anything but anger hurt and self disgust has to be very emotional.Ashish performed brilliantly throught the episode and Sanaya was an equal foil. She has to be calm when he is emoting otherwise it would be melodrama. In conclusion Big boys do cry even Jallad ones!
