What was he doing tying her dori? Especially when he wanted her out of his life... Just because he saw her backless he felt pulled towards her? Has she lost her hands? She could have easily washed her hand and tied her dori.. can't she? Why does she need his assistance in this simple task? The emotional connect which needs to be there for him to go towards her is totally lacking... why you ask.. then tell me if a respectable man comes across such circumstance what would he do? He would have felt embarrassed ... would turn around and leave from there... he would not go to assist her. The only man who would take that step towards her would be the one who is willing to have a physical relationship or who already has a physical relationship with that woman. No other instance is acceptable. Why? Lets just say it was Maithili who was in the kitchen.. then what? Would he have taken a step towards her to tie the dori? What would be the audience's reaction then... Would it be respectable in any manner? I am glad KCM has full back blouses!p

Hope my rant does not cause too much offensive on this forum but that scene was totally contrived and patched up.

Darling, his natural and first instict has always been to help her. He was coming to her rescue. Like Eveline pointed out, when he took care of her foot - he didn't have to do that either. That's why Paro tells him " you are my rakshak". He doesn't HAVE to do any of the protective actions towards her. But their souls are intertwined. He can't stay away from her - the pull is very strong and it's beyond a mere physical attraction.

Would he do that for Maithli or Sunehri ??? Heck no- they are family. Paro is someone who can't let him be. Laila's words are scaring him to death. Even the insults that he subsequently hurled @ Paro were what he felt about his mother.

There are going to be more such pull and push episodes I think. After about 100 episodes maybe he can clear up the reasons of his actions to Paro and us. Lol.
Can't believe I wrote so much.

Oh I just find the Lion's roar louder than his bite...he simply lashes out with the only hope that she would back off from his roaring...😆..

Little does he know she is his silent Sherni...who clamps him shut with her soft and those simple one liner reasoning. 😆The louder he roars, the softer she gets...like in the last episode precap - it was a I give up attitude on her...his tune changed from "get out of here" to "fine stand there if you wish till I call you back in."

Now one more thing going back a day earlier, where he finds Paro sleeping on the steps.

There what struck me was that the minute he notices the sindoor in her maang..he backs off...it meant he is running away from a commitment. Of course with the fear that he would be the one hurt were she to leave him in the future.

That was another brilliant scene where you see two phases of his emotions and feelings for her. First he approaches...eyes all soft on her...wanting to reach out...and the minute his eyes fall on the sindoor...he goes into the stay away woman mode!

😆Absolutely, he is just trying to intimidate her, this time in a different manner and for a different purpose but the psychological warfare factor remains 😆
My guess if the more he roars the more she digs in her heels 😃!!
And we all know how this is gonna end right?? His defeat at her hands is a given, when and how remains to be seen 😆!!
The scene you refer to, well, I noticed the same. His concern, his care, he was ready to giving in, but the sindoor in her maang, made him pause and think. Made him realize that she wanted a commitment ...for life. She wanted to be a permanent fixture of his existence and so when the betrayal came he would be hurt more. Would probably be left shattered like his father, and so he panicked and backed off.
The two contrasts of his temperament were beautifully highlighted then, the first his natural instinct, the second his trained temperament.

But felt hurt later when he accused her ...

Yup, it was a beautifully scripted and awesomely acted scene. Unfortunately, the aftermath of that scene left such a bitter taste in our mouths that the beauty was all but lost on us. We all were so busy worrying about the what was to follow later, that the scene lost its charm on us. Our Loss.
And this being a love hate story, such bitterness will be around for a long while, we have to learn to enjoy the love along with the hate.

Wonderful post. Nicely written. True, looking back at that scene, we can see how beautiful it is. The shyness and awkwardness was clearly visible in both their body languages. The main reason I can never hate Rudra is because of this trait of his. He might come up as aggressive and angry young man. But he actually has a decent side to him. He is not just angry, he can be caring too. I almost hated him when he said those horrible words to Paro but then I realized that he just wanted her out of his sight and insulting her was his way of forcing her away from him. I don't support what he did but I know he has his good reason behind it. If he was really believed she was characterless, he would not have tied her dori with such respect. Paro and Rudra are stubborn and are hell bent on getting what their want by hook or crook. Paro is doing it in her own gentle way and Rudra in his all aggressive way.

Now coming back to the scene. There is something else I want to point out. Paro peeks over her shoulder to check if Rudra left and looks quiet surprised when she finds him standing right behind her. That it self shows, she never expected him to do what he did. The expression on her face says it all. Lovely scene indeed.

Both Rudra and Paro are beautiful characters. You can't hate them even when you know they are flawed. When Rudra breaks her heart with his words we cry for Paro. When we see Rudra helplessly pleading Paro to trust him and not Tejawat we feel sorry for him. So they both have their strengths and weaknesses which we love and hate.

Nope, neither can I ever hate Rudra. When the forum was abuzz with adjectives like abuser and molester, I still couldn't bring myself to judge him harshly. The reason, he is an honorable and a decent guy, underneath it all. He is sensitive too, which is rare to find in a man. And he cares, very deeply. He had his reasons, more so than any other male lead, his behavior in a way was explained, whether we accept that explanation or not, was an individual decision.
And the same applies to this situation too. We know why Rudra is doing what he is doing. We know his hurt, the betrayal he suffered, his long hopeless wait, his pain and angst, and so we can also better understand why he is pushing her away. Cause essentially that's what he is doing...saving himself from further unbearable pain in the future. This is his defense mechanism, his way to protect himself from further hurt.
His love is not in doubt though. For me, his feelings are more clearer and more sensible, and more logical than Paro's muddled hero worship cum devotion. But he just cant give in...can he??

Why didn't he leave her alone to fix the dori? It was my first thought!! It was not a do or die situation that he must be one to tie the dori. He should have left her to fix it by herself! Found the scene quite inappropriate!! 😕

i usually do not fangirl over hindi serial males, but Rudra is a different case. TM, you have briefed out everything so well.
While he approached towards the kitchen, and the moment he saw her bare back, his immediate reaction was move away his sight . He did have all the opportunities to pleasurise over this woman whom he wants away from him, but still the respect he had in his eyes while he tied her dori, moreover, the passion his eyes had hold the moment she hides her face in his chest and for a sec his eyes goes all vulnerable like " ohh gosh i love her "..

yes he is our Rudra, we love him becos he has been unconditional and never asked for anything in return. he protected, loved and saved the girl who hated him to a point of back stabbing him ( obviously unknowingly ), he still love sthat woman and respects her. He obviously is not the jallad he tries to be.

Love him more becos he still claims that he was hurt that Paro hit him from the back and went with tejawat, not becos he expected her to support him, but becos it naturally hurts when u face this from the lady u love, its not Paro's fault but the hurt in Rudra is visible. he fears losing Paro again, and esp like this..

Don't worry you are not the only one. I too don't fangirl over guys, and that too for a male lead in an indian telly soap, but Rudra is an exception, and a very intriguing one at that 😉!!
See looking at it from the cvs point of view, there are tracks. Sometimes at one time, they can only deal with one character's graph and development, the rest has to take a back seat. So, last week it was all about Paro and we have seen days when it was all about Rudy and his pain. As long as both get equal attention and detail, the balanced viewer should be happy.
And yes, he is one of those individuals who when they love, they got to the ends of the earth for the same. Their love is so fierce, so intense that it either makes or breaks them. There are no mild passions involved, such people love to the extremes.
Exactly, just as you say, he takes her actions personally. If he was thinking as Rudra, the soldier, he would not have been so furious. But he is like, how could you?? How could you hurt me, and leave with him, without sparing me a second thought or chance?? And if you notice, he didn't even mention his father's fire incident, coz in his mind he already knows she is not responsible.

That was my first thought too, why didn't he leave her?? But then, when I rewatched the scene, I realized some things. He didn't leave cause he couldn't. Cause its an instinct. A natural ungovernable instinct, where Paro is concerned. He can never leave her in trouble, big or small. He has to help, protect, her. If he had paused to think, he would have walked away. But he didn't think, he just did what came naturally and protecting her honor comes naturally to him. Keeping her decent was his duty in a way.

Have to hand it to the cvs that the characters have been beautifully etched, especially Rudra's. I have some issues with Paro's development, but its my personal disappointment and disconnect, its my problem, cant take any credit away from the cvs.
