The Dori Scene...and its significance, its impact, its beauty, all was mostly lost on us cause we all were worried about what was to follow...
Although the scene was lost in a maelstorm of practicalities and realities, a re watch proved to be surprisingly beautiful.
What struck me first was the return of the original Rudra. The man who knew his limits, her boundaries and was ultra careful not to encroach on her honor. The respect, the reticence, the hesitancy, the distance was all back.
The man who was blamed for being an abuser, encroaching on her personal space, touching her inappropriately...well the man was nowhere to be found.
He glances casually and when Paro quickly turns her back, he notices her bare back and her open dori, also the blouse that was slipping down her shoulders. His first reflex, embarrassment, and he quickly turns his head away, not even giving it a glance. And with that movement, he reminded me of the hesitant yet tender man who took care of Paro's hurting foot that eventful night. The man who was reluctant to lift the sleeping Paro's ghaghra even an inch to tend to her foot. His nervousness, his hesitancy was back. In essence the real Rudra was back.
This subtly highlighted the fact that whatever transpired between Paro and Rudra during the break Paro campaign was all an act. His bordering on sexual harassment actions were all psychological warfare. Not the actions of the real Major Rudra Pratap Ranawat. Today, when all the fog has been cleared, the man is back to what he was.
Again when he approaches her to tie her Dori, his body language nowhere shows a bit of lust or attraction. Its all reluctance and hesitance. And even when he pulls the offending garment up her shoulder and ties the strings, he doesn't even spare a glance. Not even a sneak peek. His head is averted at an angle. The task done, he quickly turns around and marches out, as if all the hounds of hell are on his heels. He seemed more embarrassed than Paro herself 😆!! ( Both of them were super cute in this scene, extremely shy, awkward, and skitterish 😳, both adorable due to their bashfulness😉. Paro is so so innocent, blushing like a rose and he is so so embarrassed. He is like a shy school boy with his first crush around Paro and we end up wondering is this the same guy who has been bedding a woman for eight years now??)
And this again reminded me of why we all fell in love with him in the first place. Time and again people have pointed out that he is flawed, his behavior affected by his bitter past, but cant deny the fact that he remains the man who rescued an unknown girl from the clutches of leches the first time he met her. A man who took a bullet for her, protected her. And in spite of Aman being suspicious, send the two girls honorably back to their homes. The same guy who covered a wet Paro up in a dupatta mindful of her wet state. He might hate beautiful women, and might be rude in his speech and demeanor, gruff towards the fairer sex, but he does know how to respect women, and his basic intrinsic decency remains. Whatever he might be, a molester, a man taking advantage of a woman, or a lech he never was and never will be. Yes, he will bruise her wrists or push and pull and touch her shoulders in moments of extremities, but that's where the bad ass Rudra halts (and I am not saying this is not bad or acceptable...that is a different story altogether) He might ill treat Paro for reasons best known to us but his behavior towards Gauri, his Bhabhi Sa and Sunehri is the way he normally behaves with women. ( And the way he behaves with Maithili is so respectful and with Sunehri now gentle). Neither KCM nor Laila are the real yardsticks, as both women bring out the extremes in him and so does Paro.
So, with this scene the cvs bring Rudra back, and highlight his real character again, and the man who intimidated and threatened Paro with his proximity, trying to over whelm and break her at every opportunity is gone. This is the real Rudra Pratap Ranawat.

He had his reasons. Again not saying that they were right just that he had his reasons and Paro knew what they were. He was always honest about his dealings, be it Paro or Laila.

Eveline good one...

Oh I just find the Lion's roar louder than his bite...he simply lashes out with the only hope that she would back off from his roaring...😆..

Little does he know she is his silent Sherni...who clamps him shut with her soft and those simple one liner reasoning. 😆The louder he roars, the softer she gets...like in the last episode precap - it was a I give up attitude on her...his tune changed from "get out of here" to "fine stand there if you wish till I call you back in."

Now one more thing going back a day earlier, where he finds Paro sleeping on the steps.

There what struck me was that the minute he notices the sindoor in her maang..he backs off...it meant he is running away from a commitment. Of course with the fear that he would be the one hurt were she to leave him in the future.

That was another brilliant scene where you see two phases of his emotions and feelings for her. First he approaches...eyes all soft on her...wanting to reach out...and the minute his eyes fall on the sindoor...he goes into the stay away woman mode!

Wonderful post. Nicely written. True, looking back at that scene, we can see how beautiful it is. The shyness and awkwardness was clearly visible in both their body languages. The main reason I can never hate Rudra is because of this trait of his. He might come up as aggressive and angry young man. But he actually has a decent side to him. He is not just angry, he can be caring too. I almost hated him when he said those horrible words to Paro but then I realized that he just wanted her out of his sight and insulting her was his way of forcing her away from him. I don't support what he did but I know he has his good reason behind it. If he was really believed she was characterless, he would not have tied her dori with such respect. Paro and Rudra are stubborn and are hell bent on getting what their want by hook or crook. Paro is doing it in her own gentle way and Rudra in his all aggressive way.

Now coming back to the scene. There is something else I want to point out. Paro peeks over her shoulder to check if Rudra left and looks quiet surprised when she finds him standing right behind her. That it self shows, she never expected him to do what he did. The expression on her face says it all. Lovely scene indeed.

Both Rudra and Paro are beautiful characters. You can't hate them even when you know they are flawed. When Rudra breaks her heart with his words we cry for Paro. When we see Rudra helplessly pleading Paro to trust him and not Tejawat we feel sorry for him. So they both have their strengths and weaknesses which we love and hate.

I think CVs have dual minds and ship like us.. while last week's initial episodes it was Paro's purity, the latest epis were about Rudra and his transparency.
i usually do not fangirl over hindi serial males, but Rudra is a different case. TM, you have briefed out everything so well.
While he approached towards the kitchen, and the moment he saw her bare back, his immediate reaction was move away his sight . He did have all the opportunities to pleasurise over this woman whom he wants away from him, but still the respect he had in his eyes while he tied her dori, moreover, the passion his eyes had hold the moment she hides her face in his chest and for a sec his eyes goes all vulnerable like " ohh gosh i love her "..

yes he is our Rudra, we love him becos he has been unconditional and never asked for anything in return. he protected, loved and saved the girl who hated him to a point of back stabbing him ( obviously unknowingly ), he still love sthat woman and respects her. He obviously is not the jallad he tries to be.

Love him more becos he still claims that he was hurt that Paro hit him from the back and went with tejawat, not becos he expected her to support him, but becos it naturally hurts when u face this from the lady u love, its not Paro's fault but the hurt in Rudra is visible. he fears losing Paro again, and esp like this..
