You know what the problem is? Its the BG music. Rudra was probably looking at Paro as he has always been attracted to her. he has always showed glimpses of tenderness and kindness right from the first time they met, whether it was making sure that Paro & Bindi weren't investigated during their 1st meeting, or saving her instead of chasing the culprits, or offering her water while she was being imprisoned, or help her while she saw a nightmare.
But the BG music & lyrics were a complete mismatch with the scene. Rudra stood and looked at Paro for a few moments, either taken in by her simplicity & innocence or simply because he finds her damn attractive (note the peek at her back), like most men would do. But the song made it look like it was some momentous occasion where he realized he had fallen in love with her, which was totally not the case.
You have a very valid point here in my opinion. I also think that we're reading too much into this mainly because of the mismatch of the background music.
As for many points many of you have made-- Rudra stands for Justice. He distrusts women, but that's only because his father has influenced him that way after his mother left them. He waited for her, and she never came back, for whatever reason. This turned him bitter. He was hurt. And as a child, he learned that beautiful women never care for anyone but themselves. And now he suddenly is faced with a beautiful, young, simple, innocent girl. I think his heart is drawn to her, but his mind, and past hold him back. Not to mention his obligation and idea that she knows about Thakur Saab dealings. I honestly think she is involved not because she necessarily was there, but because she is a cunning beautiful woman, therefore she must be in on this. He shows the world his ruggedness, and his harshness, but deep down inside he is a caring, and loving guy. He does cherish relations even though he might not have faith in them. For example when his chacha came to him in the hospital. He ordered him as his major, but in doing so brought him pain, as we can see when a tear fell from his eye. He has his heart in the right place, but he probably feels that the heart has no place in his life. That doesn't mean it doesn't lash out and eventually subconsciously makes him do things that he would not do if he were thinking logically.
As for his tender moments, and his attractiveness towards her- I think it has to do with the fact that his mind knows or doubts her involvement. He came back to find her asleep on the floor clutching her ankle because of the pain. The night before when he came back in his room, and made her sleep on the floor, she was awake. Ready to strike if need may be. He was not about to let his guard down, and allow her to see his weakness. Nor was he going to give her the satisfaction that she is a dignified woman who came to face her nemesis (couldn't think of anything else at the time being) He sees her strength, and I think he might be intrigued by her. (I mean seriously who wouldn't be intrigued by this innocent mesmerizing goddess?) Yes he was cruel, and he threw her the pillow, made her sleep on the floor, and told her that she was going to go to hell anyway, but then he also gave her clothes when he realized how uncomfortable she was still dressed in her bridal outfit. He peeked to see her when she was on the floor, and he also asked for clothes for her from Laila. These are also degrees of tenderness, and care. He isn't cruel by nature, he just depicts that. And I also think his short temper has a lot to do with it. He is impulsive, and short tempered, because that's how he copes. It's all very psychological actually. Anyways, so he comes back, even though he knows that a case has been opened against him, because he hasn't been able to provide evidence that he was justified in the encounter, and nor is Paro helping him, yet he came and she was asleep. Innocently. He knows if she wanted to she could run away. If she could survive or even not be found is another story. But he comes, and she's asleep, and like i mentioned earlier, he's drawn to her. He doesn't have to worry about her seeing his kindness, or his care. But she has no one, and he has surrounded her by his thoughts and doubts. Even if he were irritated by her, what could he do when she was already asleep.
This post is already very long, but I don't think it was so odd to seeing this degree of tenderness. I just think maybe the bg music amplified it, otherwise if it weren't playing, it might have been comparable to every other caring moment Rudra and Paro have shared. Just my two cents. Sorry for the long post! I'm Saher btw, for those who don't know me. I'm new, just caught myself up with RR and am just getting accustomed to the forum.
