Like I posted in a similar post (how many of these are there? And why are they mushrooming now?)
This is a serial and not a documentary. The cvs are going to make the female lead look attractive and Sanaya looks gorgeous. People who feel uncomfortable can drape a dupatta over their tv and watch - presto! Sanaya covered! 😆

Also to everyone who are using Sanaya's comments to fuel their agenda - I just watched it and guys it was just a statement. How did you get from that sentence that she was unhappy with her costume. She just said she is less covered now (compared to the kurta) - no more no less.

I completely agree with you - and i have said the same before - then there are some who will come with views that she is lead heroine and has to be glamorous - that women in some parts of rajasthan, some time in indian history dressed like this - if you have it , flaunt it - etc etc... we've been through all that before but we do need to express our opinion so the channel hears it (i hope they track this forum)..
The problem is everyone else is covered - except her - it is so incongruous and sticks out as inappropriate in this situation ..

Really, now? Feminism means okay fine please make sure you dress exactly like the way the world wants you to? Fine. I'm TOTALLY convinced. You win.

Now, do you promise to never bring up costume topic again? Please? Pretty, please?

Oh btw, you like Deepika? I might have a problem that she 'exposes' in Ram Leela and Nagada Sang dhol plays all the time on TV. It must be so awkward for people to watch it on TV. Right.

Okaythanksbye.

What's wrong in her stating she doesn't like it? Nothing wrong with that. It's a forum after all. The TM could be fed up with all the posts praising something so "vulgar".

Anyway since whatever I say is perceived as some vendetta against Sanaya, yes because that's how jobless I'm😆I'll stop and move on , on my prudish, 16th century way.😆

If feminism is indeed linked to the clothes a female wears and how comfortable or uncomfortable others are due to those clothes then all I can say is feminists dont have much scope...itne se skin show se hi log uncomfortable feel karne lagenge toh kuch chance hi nahi feminism ka 😆

you have yeh jawaani hai deewani's dp...did you feel uncomfortable looking at deepika padukone in those lehengas...the cholis of which were wayy more revealing than what sanaya/paro wears...or may i accuse you of double standards too 😳

The TM has every right to express her opinion which i feel is good for the show (read TRP's). Unfortunately some people who like the costume are in fact getting into a bashing mode to a frank opinion. Yes even i dont have any problem with the costume, many people who absolutely luv the costume are fine with it.. BUT the question is are the TRP audiences ok with it... I would say NO. More than half of the people who like the costume are not TRP audiences and watch on their laptop alone and hence it might be fine. But when we watch with family as whole it becomes a little bit awkward... i know, as many say that TRP is not our headache, but still catering to the taste of wider audience will surely bring in more viewers which will be good for our show. Anyway even without exposure Sanaya will look absolutely gorgeous :D ... but i must say she had more fab and great costumes in IPKKND which even were being sold outside as Khushi dresses but sorry to say in RR the costume designer needs to really buckle up...

😆

I knew that was coming. As for my DP. It was a gag to show that I could fangirl a long time ago which I never bothered changing. For someone claiming to be oh so non judgemental you quickly jumped to one.

I didn't ask you to be convinced.

And you can interpret what I say in any way you want.

Don't try to shove you moral compass down my throat and I won't either.

Much thanks and regards
RC

Arey yaar 😆 My DP is huge cause for concern eh? I haven't the faintest how to change my DP from the phone and that's the only truth. 😆 So this has been my DP for as long as I remember too much bother to change it.

No I didn't like DP s look in any of her films. Yes I think BW is a vulgar piece of crap.

Sheesh.

I first over analyzed Sanaya's comment in SBB .But As A Die-Hard Sanaya fan I know what kind of person she is . she is very Up-Right,Head Strong , Straightforward N most importantly she is a grown-up women .If at all she is not comfortable she will sort with PH.

I wonder why no one has issue with skin show in mytho shows .There also female actors wear black-less blouse ,does not cover their chest and hip and not only female male actors also bare-body all the time .Some don't have issue in watching that show with family.

Coming to the character .When a male character is shirtless some girls drool over that .That time they do not think about the character sketch of male character. All rule apply to female characters .

All female lead those wear saree they also wear blouse which expose their back .I think some will be only happy if they see the lead heroines in burqa and fully covered.

A dress does not define a person . If a girl wear modern dress then she is modern thinking girl and if a girl wear salwar or saree she is old thinking .What kind of stupid cliched thinking .

I have seen Rajasthani women wear dress like paro and I have seen it personally. Because the place were I reside near by there is a place were Rajasthani community people live I have seen some women wearing short blouse and some women wearing long blouse .

In some village in Tamil Nadu women dont wear blouse and I have some old ladies still following the tradition also in coastal area of Kerala I have seen women wearing dhoti and blouse and in my neighborhood there was a grandma who followed the same tradition.

Regarding the shirt tearing part . I asked one of my female frnd who watches the show and asked her opinion . This what she said If she is in salwar also n when a guy stares at her she tends to adjust her clothes . This is what happened with Paro . Rudra noticed the teared part and looked at it so obviously Paro will feel shy . She will not tear fully and will ask Rudra to stare at it .Being a guy if a I can think in this way I fail to understand why some girls does not think in the way.

I would say Sanaya has the perfect figure to carry this look and also the dress .She is looking so stunningly hot . Sometimes my have dinner at 9:30 so she should sit with me I watched RR when she was sitting near me I did not find it awkward while seeing Paro in that look and neither my mom.My mom did not find Paro look odd .

I am so fed-up of replying to all dress related posts still many people have the same old school thought .That girls/women need to cover and boys/men can wear dress the way they like .I have seen the comments female and male celeb gets when they post a pic .If a male celeb post a shirtless pic there will be no offending comments but if a female celeb post slightly hot pic .They will be tagged as attention seekers and doing it for publicity.

Don't know when will society will change and stop judging women and forcing her to follow stupid rules .

You are entitled to your opinion and this debate will go on and none of us can talk on behalf of
the entire TRP audience except for those we know or ourselves.

Secondly, the same stylist is working with Sanaya now, who dressed her up in IPK. She dressed Sanaya in all her shows.

Thirdly, you may have liked Khushi's clothes but there are lots who did not, and thought that the velvet mismatched duppatta anarkalis were like a tent on petite Sanaya and horrible for her to wear especially after marrying a tycoon. She had 4 or 5 suits that she kept repeating, rather miserly for a rich man's wife.

I'm really tired of this topic being brought up again and again ... like really? Seeing a woman in a short choli and ghaghra makes you uncomfortable to watch it on TV with family?
I hate to say this, but a woman wearing a burkha makes me much more angry ... when it is forced.
However, I don't go around expressing that opinion to all and sundry, because it is a matter of personal choice and social dictates in that society. Seeing the barely clad background dancers in a Hindo movie annoys me, not because the women are exposed, but because I feel the Indian costumes are far more graceful and attractive ... and sexier ... like Sanaya's lehnga is.

Asking a girl to cover up because of what 'people will say' and 'how people feel' should be the last reason for dressing the way one does. It often is, but that does not make it right ... and if educated girls on a forum like this don't argue with those expectations, I don't know where they will.
Clothes should be comfortable for the wearer, that is it. Comfort including her physical comfort and her own like or dislike both.
If we spent all our time trying to dress according to other people's tastes and dictates, it would be a sorry world ... for many women it already is, without extending the censure to the clothes of a fictional character, for pete's sake.
