HI Brishti..

As you will understand very well that with my perspective as a doc I will obviously focus on why and how Gunjan got sick and how shud her treatment go...having seen so many come in the same boat..I guess she has a condition called DKA where she is unable to matabolize all the sugar due to the lack of insulin.

So if she follows and gets the usual standard of care..she shud be fine in no time..you probably know that too.

Hasn't she been through something like this before..though?

Anyway...awesome updt..somehow I don't knw why..my heart aches for Gunjan...and it has from the very beginning..💔

Hey Pundu!!! thank you so much for seeing it from POV of a doc. But it isn't DKA coz as you know she's a type 2 diabetic and this condition is mostly found in type 1 diabetics.

The problem is b'coz of her irregular diet where she has consumed very high carb foods and the insulin dosage couldn't correct the problem...this was her first attack and as you know there'll be many more to come...

my heart too goes out for Gunjan but as they say life has it's chosen ones...

Thanks shonai!!! Shaan isn't in love with Gunjan because they've just met and I don't believe in love at first sight theory but yes they are getting to know each other.

DKA is an exclusively Type 1 phenomena..where there is no insulin being produced by the pancreas, so you have to supplement it..adequately or else you are in trouble..like in this case.

Due to lack of insulin, other things like fats start getting metabolized since sugar can't be and they form toxins in the body causing an acid build up and if not treated can be fatal.

In type 2 you never get DKA.

got mixed up with type 1 and 2!!! right now i wanted to keep to keep it at hypergycemia. as the story progresses i'll get into more details coz as my doc once told me that repeated hyperglycemia causes DKA. am i right? do let me know.
