chapter 19 :- Enjoy !!!!!! -tia--
Khanak came out of her room. Her hair still wet from her shower. She wanted to wish Rashi a happy birthday before anyone else. Rashi had been so good to her, and in the past few months she had become a little sister to her. As she rushed out of her room she almost collided with Shaan. He looked up as Khanak's wet hair slapped against his face. "Ow" he yelled. Khanak stopped long enough to shrug her shoulders and hurry away to Rashi's room. "Happy Birthday!" she yelled as Rashi opened her bedroom door yawning. "Khanak, you remembered" she said smiling. "You're the best." Khanak threw her arms around her and squeezed her tight. "Of course I remembered." "What kind of friend would I be if I had forgotten your birthday." "I have the most amazing gift for you." "You will love it." "Get ready and come down. I'm having your favorite dishes made for breakfast." Rashi squealed and ran back into her room.
Shaan had heard everything. DAMN it was Rashi's birthday today. He'd been so preoccupied with his anger towards Khanak that he'd forgotten Rashi's birthday altogether. Khanak walked by him swinging her hips. Ignoring him completely. If Khanak gave Rashi a gift at breakfast and he didn't, he was going to look like a complete ass. But where was he going to find a gift at this time of morning. He went back to his room to get ready and to curse Khanak for being so organized.
Khanak got ready, wearing a buttercup yellow sleeveless fitted cotton suit with white thread work around the the deep neck and scattered throughout. She wore a white sheer pajami with it and a yellow and white duppata hung around her neck. She had taken parts of her hair, braiding it from each side and then bringing it all together in a low ponytail in the back. . She wore yellow and white glass chooria on both arms, they jingled as she ran around putting a bouquet of pink roses into a vase for Rashi.
Shaan came down the stairs and stopped. Khanak hadn't seen him yet so he could have a good long look. She looked gorgeous.. She was rushing around making everything perfect for Rashi. Why was she working so hard when she had made it clear that there was no future for them, he thought bitterly. Khanak looked at Shaan as he walked towards her and looked away. He looked so handsome, wearing a pair of cargo khaki shorts and a pink Ralph Lauren polo. The collars up. "Just what do you think you're doing?" Shaan snapped. "What does it look like I'm doing?" Khanak snapped back. "It looks to me that you're trying a little too hard to impress Rashi. " "Why, I'm not quite sure." "Why are you working so hard at being friendly with my sister?"
Khanak was livid. "How dare you." she yelled,. "Rashi is my friend. I think of her as a little sister." "Birthdays are special and they should be done right!" "I want to do this for Rashi because I care about her." "The world doesn't revolve around you, and besides Rashi was my friend even before I fell in love with you!" Then Khanak stopped. Shaan stared back at her. "Yeah but will Rashi still be your friend now that you've fallen out of love with me?" With that he turned around and stalked to the family room. Khanak pulled out a chair and sat down. Every confrontation with Shaan was taking a toll. She didn't know how much of this she could take.
Rashi ran down the stairs with a big smile on her face. "This is all for me?" she giggled happily looking at the balloons and flowers around the breakfast table. "All for the birthday girl." Khanak said smiling. Shaan sauntered back into the dining room. "Happy Birthday little sis." he said, giving Rashi a big hug. "Thanks Bhai." They all took a seat around the table. Shaan tried to shove the balloon next to his chair out of his face. Was it necessary to have so many balloons he thought glaring at Khanak. "Yummy, all my favorites." Rashi said looking at the different dishes. "I told you, today is all about you." Khanak said taking a sip of her coffee. "Thanks...bhabhi" Rashi said cheerfully. Khanak and Shaan both choked on their drinks. "Bhabhi?" Khanak said looking at Rashi. "Yes bhabhi, I don't know why I didn't call you that before, but it just seems right." "I'm sure you and bhai will be getting married soon." Khanak heard Shaan drop his cutlery onto his plate with a big clang.
"Yeah, about that," Shaan began slowly. But Rashi interrupted. "I'm so happy that Khanak is going to be my bhabhi. I can't wait until your part of our family." "That'll be the best birthday present ever." Turning to Shaan, Rashi said "Bhai why don't you propose to Bhabhi?" "That would be such an awesome gift for me." "Yeah about that, he tried again and Khanak cut him off. "Rashi how can Shaan propose to me on your day?' "This day is about you. He can propose to me some other time." "Now here open your gift she said trying to distract her." "OOOH my gift." Rashi squealed. Shaan glared at Khanak. Why did she lie to Rashi? "Bhai if you're not proposing to Bhabhi as a gift to me, then where is my real gift.?" Shaan gulped. "Yeah about that," he began again. "Rashi this gift is from Shaan and I." "He chose it especially for you." Shaan stared at Khanak as Rashi opened her gift. Inside was a beautiful wooden hand crafted jewelery box. "This is so pretty" Rashi squealed again looking at Shaan. "I thought you would like it" he said to her. Khanak rolled her eyes. "Open the box.' Khanak said. Rashi opened the box and found a beautiful silver necklace with a diamond pendant hanging from it. "This is so lovely" she said with tears in her eyes. Khanak also got a little teary eyed. "You deserve it." she said, as Rashi got up and hugged her. "Thanks Bhai" as she hugged Shaan next. Shaan continued to stare at Khanak. Just when he thought he had her figured out she would do something that would throw him right off.
"So tonight is my birthday party and you're both coming." Khanak looked at Shaan and then back at Rashi. "Rashi I don't think I'm going to be able to make it. I have so much to do tonight." "You go and have a great time with your friends. " "No way" Rashi cut in. "I'm not going without you." "But Rashi." " No Bhabhi it's my birthday, and I want you to come. I won't celebrate with out you. " Khanak bit her bottom lip and sneaked a peak at Shaan. Why didn't he say something so she could get out of this. But nope he was busy shoveling food into his mouth. Giving Rashi a small smile and nodded. "YEAH!" "We are going to have a fabulous time. We're going for dinner to Indigo." "Have you been there yet?" she said looking at Khanak. Khanak and Shaan stared at eachother. Indigo had been where Shaan had taken her for their first date. One of the best nights of Khanak's life. "Um, yes I think I might have been there before." "Okay great. so be ready to go at 7:00 tonight." "After dinner we're heading for a club." With that Rashi jumped out of her chair, gathered her gifts and ran upstairs.
Khanak waited a minute and left for her room too. Shaan stared after her. He wasn't going to let her go so easily he thought. He finished eating his breakfast and thought about what just happened at the breakfast table. To anyone else it looked like a loving family celebrating a birthday, but in reality it was nothing of the sort and he didn't like Khanak showing Rashi a family that will never exist, because of her own stubbornness. Khanak would be gone soon enough he thought angrily and then who will be left to make the excuses and give explanations---HIM.
Shaan got up from his seat and walked up the stairs to Khanak's room. She looked up from putting her earrings on as she saw Shaan at her door. He shut it quietly behind him. You wouldn't think anything was out of the ordinary if you didn't see Shaan's eyes. His eyes were on fire. He stalked towards her, but Khanak held her ground. "Why are you here Shaan?" she asked. "Why are you lying to my sister?" Shaan asked in a deceptively calm voice rivaling the anger in his eyes. "I'm not lying to Rashi." "Don't lie to me Khanak!" he said grabbing her arms and pulling her towards him. "You're showing her a family that doesn't exist. A happy loving brother and sister in law." "We aren't that couple." "Shaan, will you listen to me?" "It's Rashi's birthday, we can't tell her today that we broke up." "She'll be heart broken. " "I was thinking of telling her myself in a day or two." "And as for the gift! I didn't lie" "When I bought it a month ago I had bought it from you and I." "So it wasn't a lie." "You won't tell my sister anything. I'll tell her what needs to be told..understood?" Shaan asked squeezing her wrist. "Ow" Khanak said her eyes filling with tears. Shaan looked down and saw blood on his hand and on Khanak wrist. He had broken two of her glass chooria and cut her.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry" he said hoarsely. "Let me go, you big oaf." Khanak cried. Holding her wrist with her other hand. She hated blood. "Here let me have a look at it. We need to clean it." "No, you've done enough." Khanak said squeezing her eyes shut. ",Khanak come on, I know you don't like blood let me just see it." "No, No, No" she said in tears. Shaan forcibly took her arms trying to be gentle. Now the tears had started and she couldn't seem to stop them. "Khanak please don't cry." Shaan said hoarsely. "Please don't cry." he said again pleadingly as he leaned down and kissed her eyes one by one and then her cheeks, one by one and then he looked down at her lips and reaching down, kissed her lips. It was a gentle feather like caress. Pulling away he looked at Khanak's wet eyes and full lips and he groaned and pulled her towards him. Placing his lips on hers he proceeded to kiss her thoroughly. The kiss became more and more passionate as Khanak kissed him back. Khanak heard herself moan against Shaan as she pulled him closer. Shaan tugged Khanak's duppata from around her neck and let it slide to the ground. Pulling his lips away from hers and kissing her neck. Khanak arched her neck and pulled Shaan's shirt up touching his bare abs. Shaan kissed Khanak again, this time making her open her mouth for him as he applied more pressure. The kiss was sizzling hot and as Shaan gently pushed Khanak onto the bed, Khanak came back to her senses. "What are we doing?" she said in hoarse voice. "Something we should have done a long time ago." Shaan said reaching for her again.
"Are you crazy?" she said pushing away his hand. "Rashi is a few doors down from us, she could come in anytime." "And we are not together. Remember, you hate me." Shaan who had been in a foggy passionate haze was finally coming out of it and realizing what he almost did and with whom. He ran his hand through his hair and waited for his heart rate to get back to normal. He looked at Khanak, her lips were swollen, there were marks on her neck from his stubble and he was pretty sure she would need something tomorrow to hide the bite he'd given her. What the hell had gotten into him. This is what happens when she's around. Looking at her wrist he saw the blood. Damn, the cut he thought.
Shaan looked at Khanak and walked out of her room. Khanak stared after him. Her body still on fire. Her breathing still erratic. Shaan walked back in carrying a first aid kit. He sat down next to Khanak on the bed and carefully cleaned her cut and then put a bandage on it. "Thanks," Khanak said looking into his eyes. "Don't worry about it."with one last glance he walked out of the room.
Khanak was dreading Rashi's birthday party. Spending a whole evening with Shaan was going to be difficult. She forced herself to get ready. Maybe she could make an excuse and leave early. She chose a short white chiffon one shouldered dress to wear. It fit snugly in all the right places. Mumbai heat was killing her, she thought as she lifted her hair and tied it in a low bun. She put diamond studs in her ears. She took extra time doing her eyes creating a smoky look. She stepped back and critiqued herself. I wonder what Shaan will think she thought to herself. And then she caught herself. What was wrong with her? She didn't care what he thought, and maybe if she repeated it enough times she would believe it, she thought to herself ruefully.
Shaan shook his head and smiled reading a text from Akash. He didn't know how many times this guy needed to be rejected by a girl before he learned how to talk to them. Glancing up he saw Khanak and Rashi walk in. Looking at Khanak he couldn't help but stare. How could somebody look innocent and seductive all at the same time. "We're late let's go." Rashi said glancing at her watch. They walked outside and Khanak went to open the back door of the car. "Bhabhi where are you going? Rashi said giving her an odd look." "Aren't you sitting up front with bhai?" Khanak slowly nodded and got into the passenger side next to Shaan. Shaan looked over at Khanak. She was staring straight ahead ignoring him. Well two can play that game, he thought angrily, putting the car into drive.
Khanak got out of the car and looked at the restaurant. Memories of their perfect first date came rushing back to her. They were so happy last time they'd been here. She sneaked a peak at Shaan to see if he was just as affected as she was. He had a bored expression on his face as he waited for Rashi to get out of the car. I guess I'm the only one who remembers that date she thought sadly. Shaan watched Khanak walk into the restaurant. Thinking back to their last visit here, he couldn't help but think about how happy they'd been. And then Khanak destroyed that happiness with her stubbornness.
Dinner was long and tedious. Rashi's friends, most of whom Khanak had met before, were all very friendly. But sitting across from Shaan pretending they were a couple was torture. To make matters worse Rashi kept introducing them as her brother and bhabhi. Khanak winced everytime she head her say it. Oh well, soon enough, poor Rashi would know they weren't together anymore. Shaan sat brooding, across from her, not even pretending to be interested in keeping up their little happy couple charade. She was the one that would give him fake smiles and touch his hand lovingly. He for his part kept ordering his drinks and getting more and more surly.
The icing on the cake was when one of Rashi's musician friends decided to pull out his guitar and sing a song, as a gift to her. So Rashi had everyone couple up to dance. Shaan sat staring at her and then finally got up and held out his hand for her to take. Khanak looked up at him and placed her hand in his.

Te Amo Movie; Dum Maro Dum.
Khanak and Shaan moved together slowly to the music. The song was beautiful and the words made Khanak look up into Shaan's face. He was staring down at her intently. His eyes looking into her very soul. She couldn't stop herself from reaching out a hand and caressing his face. Pain flashed in his eyes, and Khanak felt tears form in her eyes as he twirled her to the music. Then pulling Khanak closer Shaan and Khanak moved as one to the music. The song came to an end and Shaan and Khanak continued to stare at eachother until they heard cheering. They pulled away and Khanak heard Rashi's friend say what a beautiful couple they made. Khanak looked at Shaan as he downed his drink, not looking back at her.
Thankfully dinner ended soon after. "Bhai I'm going to go with my friends. We'll meet you at the club." " Rashi, you'll see your friends at the club why don't you just ride with us. " Shaan gave Khanak a disgusted look and stalked to the car. "Bhabhi, try to understand, you know that musician, the one you just heard. He is definitely interested in me, I want to go with him so we can talk." Khanak nodded miserably and walked slowly to the car, letting herself in.
"You couldn't have made that any more obvious." Shaan said sarcastically. "What?" Khanak asked not looking at him. "Well since Rashi thinks we're in love and you're going to he her BHABHI, shouldn't you act the part instead of behaving like spending time alone with the man you supposedly love is going to kill you." Khanak glared at him. "You're one to talk, what was wrong with you at the restaurant?" "If you scowled for a second longer it was going to become your permanent expression." "Looking at you only makes me scowl." "Will you shut up! I don't want to hear any more of your smart Alec remarks." "Too bad for you, you're going to hear then." "Be prepared for the worst 5 weeks of your life." Khanak looked at him and then turned her attention towards the window All of sudden she just felt exhausted. How much longer could they fight before one of them had a break down.
They got to the club and the first thing Shaan did was head for the bar and order a drink. Khanak watched him and couldn't believe how far away, they suddenly were. Physically they might be a few feet away, but emotionally they were miles and miles apart. Shaan was so cold and distant towards her. Well what did you expect, a little voice in her head said. Even when he did come close to her physically, emotionally he turned away from her. This wasn't what she wanted. For the first time in almost a month she was actually being truthful. She just missed him so much. His laugh, his wonderful laugh that she never heard anymore. His smile that was never directed at her. His shoulder which she could always lean on for anything, his easy going nature, his ability to make her laugh even when she didn't want to. His kisses and the feel of his arms around her whenever she wanted. She missed her Shaan. The Shaan that was left now was either glaring or scowling at her but the worst was when he showed no emotion at all. His eyes staring at her as if he didn't even see her.
Khanak wrapped her arms around her suddenly feeling a chill. She had made him into that. That was her fault. She'd been so worried about being hurt from Shaan but she'd never thought that it might be her hurting him. Was she any better then Kabir. They both intentionally broke the hearts of people they supposedly loved. Looking at Shaan she really questioned how she had handled everything thus far. Khanak was still lost in thought when Rashi grabbed her hand and pulled her onto the dance floor.
Shaan raked his eyes over Khanak. He was so engrossed in her that he didn't see Megha standing next to him until she touched his shoulder. "Hi Megha," Shaan said smiling at her. "Hi Shaan," Megha said giving him a big hug. "What are you doing here?" he asked. "Rashi invited me."
she said loudly coming closer to his ear so that he could hear her above the music.
Khanak stared at Megha and Shaan, They were standing so close to eachother. She'd seen Megha throw her ams around Shaan, hugging him a little too tight. Khanak glared at them from the dance floor. But the two didn't seem to notice or worse didn't seem to care. Khanak finally had had enough. She walked off the dance floor to the bar. "Vodka and 7" she said to the bartender as she stood right next to Shaan and Megha pretending to not see them. "Hi Khanak" Megha said touching her arm. "Oh hi Megha, I didn't notice you two standing here." she said looking from Megha to Shaan. Great dress she said giving Megha another fake smile.
Khanak turned away and grabbed her drink, pulling out her money to pay for it. But Shaan got to it first throwing some money onto the bar and turning away. Khanak glared at him and tugged on his shirt. He looked down at her with hooded eyes. "I can pay for myself." she snapped. "That's fine, he said into her ear. But everyone thinks you're with me". "You're my girlfriend. So I'll pay for you." "Oh" Khanak said with a sugarly sweet smile "how sweet and chauvinistic of you." "Maybe next time you should remember I'm your girlfriend before you start flirting with your Megha infront of everyone." " Why Khanak, you think I'm just like Kabir anyways, so I'm just trying to prove you right." Khanak glared at him. Why did he always have to have the last word she thought angrily as she turned away from him.
Khanak heard a deep sexy voice close to her ear. "Hi beautiful, can I buy you a drink." "I have one" she snapped as she turned towards the voice. Her eyes grew wide...ooh he was hot. She stole a glance at Shaan, He was staring at them as he took a long drink from his glass. Putting his empty glass down he continued to stare at them, not looking happy. Good! Khanak thought as she turned her attention back to the new guy. " I already have a drink." she repeated giving him a flirty smile. "Hook, line and sinker." she thought as he gave her a big smile back. "Well how about a dance then?" he asked. "That depends, can you dance?" she said leaning in close. He laughed and said "I think you'll like my moves." Khanak took a step back. She hoped it was dancing he was talking about. Glancing at Shaan, again she saw him glaring at them with his fist clenched. Perfect, she thought.
"Well, let's see these moves of yours," she said grabbing his hand and moving to the dance floor. Who the hell was this loser? Shaan thought watching the two walk away. Not that he cared, he thought, as he pounded back his drink. He grabbed Megha's hand," let's dance" Shaan made sure to position himself where he could see Khanak and she could see him. Look at how close that Megha was dancing to Shaan. Khanak thought bitterly. Shaan couldn't believe how Khanak was glued to that random guy. Then he saw the guy move his hands from her waist to her hips and then alittle lower. Shaan saw red. He pulled away from Megha. "I'm sorry, Megha" he said slurring a little bit. "I need to take care of something." He walked away, leaving a stunned Megha behind.
Khanak couldn't believe this guy, as she moved his hands back to her waist. The nerve. If she wasn't trying to make Shaan jealous she would have slapped this guy by now. One more shift of the hands and he was going to lose a limb she thought. "Excuse me, Shaan said I'm cutting in now" as he grabbed Khanak's hand and pulled her to him. "Hey", the guy said but one look at Shaan's face and he knew this was not a guy he wanted to mess with.
Shaan pulled Khanak close to him. "Quite a show you were putting on." he said with barely contained anger. ""Is that your plan now. "You haven't done enough to destroy us, that you're going to let random strangers grope you to make me hate you even more then I already do." Khanak was livid, she raised her hand to slap him. "I don't think so." he said though clenched teeth. Pulling her close, she could smell the alcohol on his breath and see the glazed look in his eyes. "You're drunk" she said making a face. "Not yet, he said with a slight slur but I'm getting there." As he pulled her closer, Khanak tried to pull away. "Get away from me," she said trying to pull away from him. "Oh my touch repulses you now, but the touch of strangers you're fine with." Khanak stared up at him with tears in her eyes,. Why was he so hurtful. Where was the Shaan that loved her.
Shaan swore when he saw the tears in her eyes. What was wrong with him. He was blinded by rage when he had seen that guy touching his Khanak. He stared at her for a moment with pain in his eyes and then he walked off the dance floor straight to the bar. Khanak stared at him and then walked off herself. She needed some air, following some signs that led her to an outdoor patio. She was alone, which was good because she needed time to think.
What was happening to her. She felt her heart break every time she saw pain in Shaan's eyes. Pain she put there. She loved him so much and now that she could think straight she knew deep within her soul that Shaan would never do to her what Kabir did to Aria. He loved her too much. In Vancouver she had been consumed with grief and anger. She didn't feel like she could trust any one anymore. Instead of talking to Shaan about what she had been feeling. Leaning on him and letting him help her work past it. Instead of all that she had pushed him away. Now that Khanak was finally able to be true to herself, she could admit that she acted rashly and her stubbornness might just have cost her the most important thing in her life. Shaan's love. He was right she had been the selfish one. Only thinking of herself. But she knew now that she couldn't live without him. The last week had been the most painful of her life. Pain she had brought not only to herself but to Shaan too.
She needed to talk to Shaan she decided. She needed to beg him for his forgiveness, and pray that he would take her back. As she rushed back into the club she saw that Megha was still standing next to Shaan. Shaan, who was completely intoxicated from the looks of it. She could see from here that his eyes were glazed over and his one arm was around Megha Khanak felt her blood pressure start to rise. Back off Megha, she thought glaring at her. He's mine. Khanak grabbed her phone from her bag and called the house asking for the driver to come pick them up. Then she called over Rashi and told her they were going home and for her to bring Shaan's car back home when she left.
They walked over to Shaan, seeing Khanak, Shaan shifted away from Megha and gave Khanak one of his boyish smiles. He slipped his arm around her waist and pulled her close. "I was looking for you" he slurred into her ear. "I can see that." Khanak replied looking over at Megha. "Come on we're going home" she said. "Home to bed." Shaan whispered into Khanak's ear sending shivers up her spine. "Yes home to bed...separately." Shaan pouted at her, making Khanak laugh. As she led him outside he stumbled a few times. "Shaan be careful" she said as she put her arm around his waist. He stopped and turned towards her pulling her close and kissing her neck. "Shaan, what are you doing?" she squealed. "Nothing." he replied kissing her neck again. "It's been so long" he said as he continued to kiss her. Khanak didn't think right now was the time to remind him, it had just been that morning in her bedroom. He was in no condition to understand anyways.
Thankfully the driver pulled up and Khanak was able to get him into the car. As Shaan got comfortable in the car he looked over at Khanak "Why are you so far away?" he asked moving closer to her and putting his arm around her. "Shaan," Khanak said glancing at the elderly driver in the front seat. "Stop it" she whispered as he nuzzled her neck. "No," was his answer. She moved away again, and he followed her successfully blocking her against the car door. "Shaan" she said grinding her teeth, "stop it." Fine, give me a kiss." he ordered. "No way." "Fine!" he said going back to nuzzling her neck and then biting her ear. Khanak almost groaned...what was happening here.
"Fine one kiss and that's it!' She reached over to kiss his cheek and he moved so that she kissed his lips. For a few seconds she continued the kiss and then she pulled away feeling flushed Shaan gave her a happy drunk smile and put his head on her shoulder. He was behaving like her old Shaan. The Shaan she had driven away.
They arrived home and the driver helped her get Shaan into the house. They had just made it into his room when he pushed her away. He stared at her and she could see pain in those eyes. "Why did you do it Khanak?" he asked slurring his words. "What happened to your so called love for me? Where did it go" he asked, the pain clearly evident in his eyes. "I loved you so much and you tore my heart out." "Shaan, please listen. I'm so sorry, no words I can say will ever make this better but all I can say is I 'm sorry." "I will spend the rest of my life making it up to you if you let me" Khanak said pleadingly. Shaan glared at her and then stumbled as he moved away from her. "You're a liar Khanak. I don't trust you" he said stumbling. " I don't want you anymore..I'm not interested" he said nastily. Khanak closed her eyes against the pain.
"Fine, let me help you to the bed." "No do you hear me? I won't take you back, ever." he slurred, as he fell onto his bed. "Just do me a favour" he said. " Just stay the hell away from me." Then he passed out. Khanak reached down and took off his shoes and then put a light sheet over him. She stared down at him, he looked so vulnerable in his sleep. So innocent. Then she cursed herself bitterly. She destroyed their relationship and now it was all over. He would never take her back. That thought opened the flood gates and the tears streamed down her face. People wait for true love all their lives and she had thrown hers away.
She walked back slowly into her own room and laid down on her bed. She squeezed her eyes shut trying to block out what Shaan had just said to her. The phone buzzed and she saw it was Aria. she better get it she thought. She wiped her tears and picked up the call. "Hi Ari" she said. "What's wrong?" Aria asked right away. ."Nothing is wrong she said her voice cracking. "Don't lie to me Khanak Ahluwalia. I've known you for too long. Did you and Shaan have a fight?" "Hearing Shaan's name, Khanak lost her battle with the tears and she started sobbing again. She told Aria what she had done. Aria listened to everything and then spoke. "How can you ever compare Shaan's love for you, to mine and Kabir's love." "There is no comparison. Your 5 month long love, beats out my 7 year one, hands down." "And that's even before I found out about Kabir's affair." "What?"Khanak said sitting up.
"Kabir loved me, atleast at the beginning but never did we have an all consuming passionate love like you and Shaan." "Not everyone gets that, you were lucky to have found eachother." "Kabir was selfish and he always put himself first." " Looking back at it now, I can see why he wanted to marry me. Because I always put him first too. " "I learned to, because, I thought I loved him." "Shaan's love for you is selfless. His actions speak even louder then his words." "I've never met him, bit I've spoken to him and I know the depth of the feelings he has for you." "They're powerful feelings."
Khanak felt more tears roll down her face. She had it all and she threw it away. "He's already told me he will never take me back." she said through tears. " He's so angry. " "So you're just going to take his no for an answer. That's it." "The Khanak I know, never gives up on what she wants. The Khanak I know never loses. She's a fighter." "Also what is up with this melodrama, all these tears at the drop of a hat. " "You're becoming too soft Khanak," Aria chastised. "You're watching too many of those Saas bahu serials where the bahu is always crying. Stop it okay!" Khanak laughed through her tears. Aria was right she didn't even recognize herself anymore. Khanak, thanked Aria and told her she' would call soon. She needed to think. As she laid back down she thought about the never say die Khanak. She never gave up without a fight and she definitely wasn't going to give up shaan without one either. She couldn't lose, because her happiness, her life depended on it.
She would use any method necessary to win Shaan back because afterall all is fair in love and war. Things were about to get interesting she thought allowing a slow smile to spread across her face.
