Ananya, why was the Kusa grass singled out for so much prominence in the Hindu religion compared to other grass species? Was it because it was probably found in abundance in India during the early times? Do u know?

Rama meeting Sita predominantly appears in RCM ,I think even Kamban writes that Sita and Rama glance at each other before her swayamvar.Valmiki Ramayana doesn't have it. In VR Rama-Sita do not even garland each other at their marriage , only Kanyadanam and tri-padi (going round the fire thrice not seven times as its done now a days)The custom of garlanding was followed by gandharvas and was adopted by people of Aryavarta later.

Ananya, thanks so much for the info. My son used to watch this cartoon. show called Pinky and the Brain when he was little. I am gonna change it to Ananya the Brain. 👏👏👏
The pushpa vatika scene is from RCM. It is sooooooooooooooo beautiful. I have the 2 volumes of RCM that I bought from Chinmaya Mission. The original is translated into regular day-to-day Hindi to make it easier for people like me. 😆😆😆
Even the ordinary version is so beautiful. One day I will brush up on my literary Hindi skills to enjoy the original....one day...whenever that day is...so many things to do...so little time.
