I sometimes wonder why Ram just didn't wait till he got to Ayodhya to do the Agni Pariksha? Do you think Sita Vanvas was required in the Ramayana?

i think vanvaas was necessary because it helps you realize exactly how wrong the Ayodhya vasis were. and remember we're suppose to learn from moral strories. the moral is to treat a woman with respect no matter what. through the sita vanvaas we also get to see the power of a woman who raises two her sons into powerful warriors on her own. i can write a really long speech about this but maybe other members can add onto what i said.

For this part, our friend Vibhishana has given an excellent explana\tion in previous threads. You can refer them. In that period, every citizen have contraversial opinions about Sitaji's abduction and Ramji's fight with Ravan. My mother used to say that Sitaji went to exile and took shelter of Valmiki's ashram because Ramayan shud be written by him.

Ram cannot bring any bad remark knowingly or un knowingly to his dynasty. Every king in Ikshvaku dynasty is more powerful and respelndent than their successors. To clarify all the doubts and disputes about sitaji, her children Luv & Kush started singing Ramayan in different king doms. From them only, the story of Ram - Sita had been learnt by people. It is destiny and even God cannot change it.

hmm I agree with Kiran...
theres lot to learn from Ramayan
and a mother how teach all lessons to kids
without help of family and husband...
then SItaji for the sake of her In-laws family opted vanvas...
this is one of the great lessonn
to the ones who do
