Before writing the update ,lets see what eminent persons have talked about Mata Sita
This glorious Sita, purer than purity itself, all patience, and all suffering. She who has suffered that life of suffering without a murmur, she the ever-chaste and ever-pure wife, she the ideal of the people, ideal of the gods, the great Sita, our national God, she must always remain.-Swami vivekanand in Sages of India
kaavyam raamaayaNam kR^itsnam siitaayaaH charitam mahat |
paulastya vadham iti evam chakaara charita vrataH || 1-4-7
That sage with observed sacred vows has rendered the entire epic in the name of 'Ramayana', 'Sublime saga of SIta' and 'elimination of Paulastya( Ravana)'.
Episode begins with Vibhishana requesting Sita to step out of palaquin as Shri Rama has asked her to walk to him (So that all the Vanara sena get a glimpse of their mata Sita) all the onlookers are very eagerly waiting to have a glimpse and amidst this, Sita steps out of the palaquin all standing there hail her greatness , she looks at Shri Rama and her eyes are full of tears (of joy) and humbly proceeds towards him..
(With mixed reactions crossing her mind , she's thinking deeply as she proceeds with ocean of tears gushing out from her eyes)
Towards her beloved she walks just as a river flows very hurriedly towards the ocean; what dilemma is my Rama in, that makes him stand so still??
Why am I getting such a cold response? Have I erred somewhere, O' Lord do justice to me' say something O scion of Raghus......
As sita reaches towards Shri Rama and he asks everybody to be quiet
Shri Rama sternly addresses sita
" O best lady (SreshTHe) am free of all anger whatever stigma was laden on me and the one reason for it are eliminated with my valor I have gained success and thus completed my vow and now I'm free of all burdens.
Sita, When you were alone in the ashrama , Ravan abducted you and I was blamed for it, today I have washed all that stigma and the one who was the reason for it. Hanuman's leaping of ocean, King Sugriv's fight for me along with his army; King Vibhishana's abandonment of his sinner brother and aiding me has borne fruits today
(Rama acknowledges all his associates and they approve by nodding) I have reacted in the same way as a person with self respect reacts, I have avenged the insults heaped on me by slaying Ravan ; I have protected the code of good behaviour and renewed the good-will of my well known (famous) clan. My winning you back has thus been fulfilled."
Sita is listening intently with bowed head, while all the onlookers are pained all to hear this, they're shocked to hear all this but nobody dares question him.
Sita's counter arguments : She asks Rama with tears in her eyes " Is that it?? you acknowledged everybody but never said anything about your wife , in this gathering of men did you want to say that you haven't fought this war against that base sinner Ravan for my sake; because I was in your enemy's captivity thats why I don't deserve to be your wife anymore?? You have missed to see my helplessness and thats my agony, you don't know how much I have yearned for you being separated from you ; being away I have cried (for you) like hell and you haven't thought about it. When you sent brave Hanuman to see me in Lanka , why didn't you tell me through Hanuman that you've abandoned me , if you'd said that through him that you've abandoned me I would have put an end to my life then and there itself
O scion of Raghus,one who is the fulfiller of father's promises, have you forgotten your sacred promises made to me(in marriage)?? Am I not loved by you anymore, you are suspecting your Sita??
O god-like, all knower of good deeds I have emerged from King Janakas' sacrificial land hence known as Janaki not that I owe any relation to him; I have emerged from this earth, I am divine and divine characteristics rest in me but you haven't paid any attention to my special characteristics . You are my soul O scion of Raghus ,but when my very soul rejects me there's no point being alive . I don't want to live anymore with false accusations". Rama has nothing to say but only looks sternly with eyes full of tears.
pavant~a ki jivit pratimaSiya ki agya sunn lakshman ne mahajwala pragaTayi.....
Pavanta ki jivit pratima~ pavanta ka nij praman dene aayi .........
Encircling the divine fire she takes an oath with folded hands she pleads:
"If my heart has not wavered even for a moment from Shri Rama the scion of Raghus, then O agni-the witness to this world protect me from all sides"
My character is pure even then Shri Rama thinks me defiled , if Iam all pure and free of stigma then O agni the witness of this world protect me from all sides"
If I haven't violated shri Rama in thoughts and action then O agni-the witness to this world protect me from all sides"
If all gods The sun, moon ,twilight all the three worlds,earth ,air and other elements know me of pure nature then O agni-the witness to this world protect me from all sides"
Saying thus Sita enters the fires Lakshman is full of tears and is very pained to witness this.Shri Rama taking his face off Sita disheartens her very much and tears are gushing from her eyes😭😭😭
Like gold she always has to prove her integrity, passing thorugh the fire.....
Lokaapvaad ki duhayi de rahe hai, vishnu apni Lakshmi ki parksha le rahe hai
har kisiko aaj he parinaam ki pratiksha; sita ki nahi hai , yeh hai agni ki pariksha;
dekhenge abhi pal bhar me sabhi satvanti ki sachchai...........Pavanta ka , siya pavanta praman dene aayi
Pavanta ki jivit pratima.........
Fearing the public scandal Vishnu seeks tests his Lakshmi; everyone eagerly awaits for the results of such a test ; very soon the truth of this chaste ant truthful woman be known to all......This Sita who is the very lively idol of Purity ; 'Tis is not her test but the test is for the fire itself.
Within moments of entering fire, Agni , along with Sita appears and pleasingly addressing Sita as his daughter he takes Sita to Shri Rama; Rama is elated and so are all others;
Rama bows before agni and Agni blesses him and tells him that Sita is of ever pure mind and has constantly worshipped Rama and that he (agni) was here to return Sita .
Rama says to him that such a test was necessary for the public approval and acknowledgement of Sita's chastity and honesty. He couldn't have abandoned Sita.He says" My sita is ever pure and chaste"; I accept Sita , daughter of Janaka in front of everybody. Agni blesses and disappears.
(agni vouches for Sita's chastity; Inspite of being in Lanka, Sita was ever pure just like a lotus.)
"even if Rama knew about Sita's chastity he had to do this for Sita and thus take criticism of all"
Sita-Rama look at each other lovingly teary eyed; Ram warmly holds sita's hands and tells that whwtever happened in the exile was pre-destined and that they were puppets in the hands of fate.,Sita touches Ram's feet
Everybody is happy at this reunion .
The demi gods along with Brahma acknowledge Sita's super human feat by showering flowers on her; all the present bow before Brahma. Rama, sita and Lakshman bow to Brahma and he reciprocates
Brahma addresses Shri Rama that he was none other than supreme Narayana and that he was above the truth even and requests him to unveil the secret of his Raamavatar and the lila he did, Rama cuts him short and tells that all beings are representative of god and he (Rama) was a normal human being , son of Dasharatha and doing his duties not wishing fruits for the deeds done and neither with the worry of birth and death . Brahma agrees and disappears and so do other gods.
